Hello, Raiders!
We plan to release Update 9.40 soon, and a whole slew of QoL improvements are included. Expanded Clan progression with new Clan Levels and bonuses is the biggest feature in this Update, but we’re also introducing tweaks to Siege, Live Arena-related quests, the Plarium Program, and some miscellaneous changes on top of that. Oh, and there will be new Champions (revealed later) and a balance patch, as usual!
Have a look at the Update Highlights below to learn the details.
With Siege Battles becoming a prominent Clan activity not so long ago, it feels only proper to give Clans more room to grow and show their achievements. Therefore, we’ve decided to introduce 5 new Clan Levels in Update 9.40 - this brings the highest attainable Level to 25 and unlocks new bonuses.
Important note: no one will keep excess Clan XP earned after reaching Clan Level 20 prior to this Update. Everyone who has gotten that far will enter 9.40 as if they had just earned that impressive milestone, and will have to gain more Clan XP to progress further.
At the same time, new Clan Levels come with appropriate bonuses: extra Silver for completing Campaign Stages, more Multi-Battles, and up to two more slots in the Clan Shop. Oh, and there are new items in that Shop as well, including Chaos Dust, Chaos Powder, and Artifact Chests that have a chance of dropping Mythical Rank 6 Killstroke Artifacts!
Upon reaching Level 60, players will have their Arena-themed Advanced Quests changed to one that requires winning a Live Arena Battle. Furthermore, we’ll add a separate Live Arena Quest for all players with access to Live Arena. It requires winning 1, 3, or 5 Live Arena Battles and provides rewards that include 20x Multi-Battle Attempts, 50x Energy, and a Live Arena Chest that contains Artifacts, Charms, Silver, and even has a chance to drop a Legendary Skill Tome once a month.
We are also increasing the duration of each Live Arena activity time frames by an hour and adjusting matchmaking for newer players to make their start in this PvP mode smoother.
Siege will see several QoL changes aimed at making the experience smoother. Here is what you can expect:
Yeah, we are, because NO ONE requested this change.
Marius is yet another reason for disgust. Yes, if you want Marius, you have to do special missions. I'd rather do these missions against the weakest opponents possible, not getting pushed up higher than I want to, or can, go ...because a Project Manager bait-and-switched something on me that I relied upon for 2.5 years.
I've never seen a bot. My assumption is we need to become bots to lessen the time we have to deal with this crap.
Truth Be Told, winning one random Classic Arena battle for an advanced quest will probably take all of 5 seconds. Shu-Zhen =- Lydia =- Taras, *squish*, sorted. Getting stuck with 3 straight opponents who outpoint you by 200-400 Live Arena score could cost you 20 minutes. Big difference.
As I said in a previous post, "....Live Arena update is typical Plarium tone-deaf pursuit of their agenda for their game without regard for what the Player Base may think or want....sounds about par for the course."
After almost 5 yrs of playing Raid, I have come to expect nothing else.
As for bot teams in Live:
If you lose three consecutive fights in Bronze & Silver Live Arena, you will get a bot team that you should be able to beat.
If you lose three consecutive fights in Gold, you will wait for 60 seconds for the game to realize that there are no bot teams in Gold, then it will exit, and make you start the search again.
Its not merely adding a live arena quest. Its the addition of this to the stupid tag arena and the hydra quest.
Why? Why are they forcing people into game play? Especially when Plarium knows they are disliked parts of the game. I tried LA. I believe I'm stalled at 1300 points (the game doesn't let me fall Abby further). I throw a key at it every once in awhile. Still don't like it.
Remind me again why i should stick with a game which forces me to play the parts of it i don't like?
Suggestion: not only for live arena, but other things as well, *especially* cvc and arena resets:
Have a rotating schedule so it's not always the same day and time every week.
If you're on the US east Coast, tag reset is 2am sunday night/monday morning, which measn making that last minute push to get to the next tier problematic when you've got work/school in the morning.
There's no good reason why it should be precisely the same every week, change it from 168 hours to 175, for example, every week it would happen 7 hours later than the week before and eventually cycle the entire way through the clock
Quadruple Upvote for a rotating reset for all competitive game modes, as well as a rotating schedule for tourney start/end times.
95% of all tourneys end in the middle of the overnight for all US/Canadian Players. If you are going for a win, it is always the same countries that are awake and active and the same countries that have to stay up all night to not get sniped at the last minute.
This is from a couple days ago, but it's a very minor thing I consider problematic with Live:
Not for Kane :) lol
But to be fair its just as likely to happen with someone you beat. And this could actually get worse with the expanded hours. Maybe I'll start getting to fight myself a couple times per day again lol

Yeah, my suggestion for that issue is that you shouldn't get rematched against someone in the same day, certainly not multiple fights in a row.

Side note: What do you think of Kharnage? I see you are picking him frequently, at least in those fights?
I won't get him until the next rotation, but I have not had anyone pick him agaisnt me in Live yet...kinda surprising, unless he isn't as good as originally advertised?

He's excellent. Difficult to build for though.
I originally had him as high acc for his form 1 debuffs, but i wasn;t happy with damage, so I rebuilt him in lethal with somewhat less speed and acc but a ton more crit damage.
[Edit: to clarify, it was the ignore defense that really made the difference]
For live arena, he's mainly to shift to form 2 and use his a3, which blocks revive if they have 3+ debuffs
Pair him with someone who has an acc buff, like horsey or mikage
Right now he's also the star dps of my NM hydra team, but it's still a work in progress

Reading his kit, I thought he might be a rockstar for Hydra damage.
I was up to rank 1800 before I quit playing live arena now I think I am back down to 1200, it sucks worse than that tag arena and that is saying something. Your PVP is broken, admit it and actually make the changes people want. Here is a an idea for you. Ask the players what they think is broken about it and fix it.
Let me prove a point, there used to be a game on FB called marvel alliances, it ran a lot of the same way this game does and after three years of players telling them to fix the pvp, and them ignoring the players they shut down there servers and now make no money off the game. Players get tired of being ignored and start looking for new games when the old ones fail them. Take it from me I have been playing online games since they first came out. Along with other games before even the atari 2600 came out. Just look into it and make some much needed changes before other games come out and everone shifts to those other games.
I remember when City of Heroes launched.
Players were *encouraged* to check out stuff being worked on in the test server and give feedback. And sometimes changes were made as a result of that feedback, *before* pushing it live.
That would be a sensible approach.
Plarium is thinking in other ways: We open a test server for CCs as a marketing tool...no need to initially look for bugs or suggestions.
When are you going to fix annoying bugs like the chat constantly switching away from clan chat and the red dot on seige being permenantly there. These cannot be complex bugs to fix, but they are seriously annoying as players.
If you read the updates, they've already fixed it 3 times.
Gotta work eventually right?
...right?
😋

Hi there!
We're working to fix these issues you mentioned and get everything running smoothly as soon as possible. Turns out, that pesky red dot is a bit more stubborn than we thought - it just doesn’t want to say goodbye that easily.
Thank you so much for your patience. We'll keep you all updated on the progress and any upcoming fixes.

Please focus on hydra AI and serpent will adjustments, those of us that actually play the game could care less about trivial red dots and such.
Thank you!!
