We plan to release Update 9.40 soon, and a whole slew of QoL improvements are included. Expanded Clan progression with new Clan Levels and bonuses is the biggest feature in this Update, but we’re also introducing tweaks to Siege, Live Arena-related quests, the Plarium Program, and some miscellaneous changes on top of that. Oh, and there will be new Champions (revealed later) and a balance patch, as usual!
Have a look at the Update Highlights below to learn the details.
Clan Improvements
With Siege Battles becoming a prominent Clan activity not so long ago, it feels only proper to give Clans more room to grow and show their achievements. Therefore, we’ve decided to introduce 5 new Clan Levels in Update 9.40 - this brings the highest attainable Level to 25 and unlocks new bonuses.
Important note: no one will keep excess Clan XP earned after reaching Clan Level 20 prior to this Update. Everyone who has gotten that far will enter 9.40 as if they had just earned that impressive milestone, and will have to gain more Clan XP to progress further.
At the same time, new Clan Levels come with appropriate bonuses: extra Silver for completing Campaign Stages, more Multi-Battles, and up to two more slots in the Clan Shop. Oh, and there are new items in that Shop as well, including Chaos Dust, Chaos Powder, and Artifact Chests that have a chance of dropping Mythical Rank 6 Killstroke Artifacts!
Live Arena Improvements
Upon reaching Level 60, players will have their Arena-themed Advanced Quests changed to one that requires winning a Live Arena Battle. Furthermore, we’ll add a separate Live Arena Quest for all players with access to Live Arena. It requires winning 1, 3, or 5 Live Arena Battles and provides rewards that include 20x Multi-Battle Attempts, 50x Energy, and a Live Arena Chest that contains Artifacts, Charms, Silver, and even has a chance to drop a Legendary Skill Tome once a month.
We are also increasing the duration of each Live Arena activity time frames by an hour and adjusting matchmaking for newer players to make their start in this PvP mode smoother.
Siege Improvements
Siege will see several QoL changes aimed at making the experience smoother. Here is what you can expect:
If a Clan destroys a Stronghold or a Mana Shrine, or if a Clan’s Stronghold or Mana Shrines remain intact at the end of the Battle Phase, all Clan Members who have set at least 1 Defense Team, won at least 1 ATK battle, or captured at least 1 enemy Team Slot during the current Siege will receive rewards of Mana Orbs. If a Clan has won a Siege, then each Clan Member who has set at least 1 Defense Team, won at least 1 ATK battle, or captured at least 1 enemy Team Slot during the current Siege will receive a Victory Chest. The same conditions apply to receiving Milestone Rewards, as well as Florins for defending a Team Slot, defeating an enemy team, or capturing an empty enemy Team Slot.
We will drastically reduce the cost of repairing the Stronghold, Magic Towers, Defense Towers, and Mana Shrines.
Attack Scroll distribution will be adjusted: The number of ATK Scrolls given per Clan will be adjusted so that the Clan doesn’t get excessive ATK Scrolls and, by continuation, unfair advantage. At the start of the Battle Phase, ATK Scrolls will be evenly distributed between all Clan Members. If the total number of ATK Scrolls (equal to the total number of enemy Team Slots) cannot be divided equally between Clan Members, the remaining ATK Scrolls will be given to Clan Members according to their Clan Role’s priority (Clan Leader, followed by Deputies, Lieutenants, and Soldiers, in that order). If there are several Clan Members with the same Role, the ones with higher Team Power will have a higher priority. There is a total of 5 additional ATK Scrolls given to the Clan and distributed by the same logic.
We’ll change the number of Victory Medals given to Clans for protecting and destroying the Stronghold and Mana Shrines. Defending the Stronghold and a Mana Shrine will now bring your Clan 1200 and 450 Medals respectively. Destroying an enemy Stronghold and a Mana Shrine will now bring you 1300 and 550 Medals respectively.
Miscellaneous
Further enhancements to Champion AI in Hydra Battles will be implemented. Damage and Ally Attack Skills will prioritize the Hydra Head currently digesting a Champion. Exposed Necks are the next priority. And, finally, grown Hydra Heads are the last target.
Plarium Points Program is enhanced with a new Promo Code, available exclusively on Plarium Play, Warm-up Card, and other small improvements. Searsha the Charred, who is obtainable via the program, will be buffed in the current balance patch. You can see the changes in the next section.
Demon Lord will refresh between 10:00 UTC and 11:00 UTC to reduce server load. This means all Clans will receive their Clan Boss rewards at some point in that time frame, but not necessarily at the same time. Furthermore, players will not be able to participate in Clan Boss Battles for an hour after switching Clans.
Wow, this crazy how many people are upset about having to play a live arena battle once in awhile. I hate Tag Arena, but that's been in the quests forever. There's no difference here. Chill out people. It's not a big deal at all. You're not playing against top tier pay-to-win players. You'll just play with the other arena scrubs and have no problem winning ONE BATTLE, once in awhile. lol.
The Live Arena thing is a disimprovement. Noone wants to be forcefully placed into doing this optional game mode that is 100% a PTW game mode. Stop tryiong to force people to give you more money.

Pretty sure this will be the way of it once we fast forward two weeks and all the dust settles, but yowzza, peeps are wild about even the mention of a Live Arena Advanced Quest right now.
It's like everyone forgot that if they ever plan to chase Marius, they are gonna have to get cozy with the idea of doing some Live Arena anyway.
Not to mention, for the Live Arena avoiders that are in low tiers, there are bots in Bronze & Silver that help you win & climb.
Truth Be Told, winning one LA Fight for an advanced quest will probably take all of 5 minutes.
Yeah, we are, because NO ONE requested this change.
Marius is yet another reason for disgust. Yes, if you want Marius, you have to do special missions. I'd rather do these missions against the weakest opponents possible, not getting pushed up higher than I want to, or can, go ...because a Project Manager bait-and-switched something on me that I relied upon for 2.5 years.
I've never seen a bot. My assumption is we need to become bots to lessen the time we have to deal with this crap.
Truth Be Told, winning one random Classic Arena battle for an advanced quest will probably take all of 5 seconds. Shu-Zhen =- Lydia =- Taras, *squish*, sorted. Getting stuck with 3 straight opponents who outpoint you by 200-400 Live Arena score could cost you 20 minutes. Big difference.
You jabronies are obsessed with keeping us players from playing this hame on our ownn terms. First you destroy taunt in hydra, now you're forcing everypne to play the most uneven and inconsistant version of PvP. I understand that your desperate to increase sales of shard packs, but your only marketing plann is to drain the fun out of the game. BTW, I know full well you'll match me multiple times in a row to the same overpowered opponent while never showing me the same "courtesy".
We need more slots for equipment, I would like to know who is the genius who does not make this decision, you can do it for a fee like the champions, it all goes in your favor!!!! We need more slots you have to get it into your head!!! Lote
As I understand it this has nothing to do with a design choice, it's a physical limitation at this point. Personally I maintain people also keep way more gear than they need / should.
From your wording it sounds like you are adding two maybe three quests, one daily one weekly, one monthly.
Is that correct?
Or is it just a daily to win 5?
Confusing words yours are.
From my understanding there's a possibility you will get an Advanced Quest daily to win 1 Live Arena battle. There will be a separate "quest" contained within Live Arena itself to win 1, 3 or 5 matches that will reset daily. May be wrong on that last point, will need to wait for the update.
*Changing* the advance quest means having to do Live *instead* of classic or tag to get the same rewards as before.
And while it's honestly not gonna affect me personally at all, it's gonna be a significant detriment for some of my clustermates.
"Hey, people don't like this feature we added; how can we get engagement up?"
"Make it mandatory in order to complete dailys"
"Genius!"
Is having to win 1 LA battle sometimes that big a detriment? If they're in Gold surely they can win a fight and lower tiers have bots to farm a free win.
I challenge all you crybabies to use 10 live arena tokens and post your results. I guarantee 3 to 6 winnable matches even for you early gamers. And certainly nobody with an 0 for 10 slate. I also guarantee none of you @$%%^ will do it.
So I have had this thought for a while now, but since Live Arena quests are being added in to Daily Quests I feel I need to bring up my thoughts.
Advanced Quests should have a required number of quests to be completed in order to get the Advanced Quests final reward. For example, there are 10 quests that show daily, players would have to complete 8 to get the reward. Could even increase the number of quests to 12 and require the current 10 to complete daily.
This would make it more enjoyable for all players and give them choices and those that don't want to participate in Live Arena will not be forced to participate
Interesting idea. I'll pass along your feedback. 👍

Several people in my cluster only have maybe 1-2 hours at the absolute most a day to play, particularly on weekdays/work days
If the expanded live arena times doesn't overlap that tiny window, then they're just SOL for getting dailys done.

This is from a couple days ago, but it's a very minor thing I consider problematic with Live:
