Patch Notes (05.02.21) Update 3.21

Since the release of the Doom Tower, we've been looking for ways we need to improve or tweak it. While we're still working on the next full rotation, we have made a few changes to the current Doom Tower Bosses to help make them a little less easy to beat with gimmicks and a little more strategy-oriented.

Here's what you need to know:

- The Nether Spider will now always attack with her second skill, Brood Feast, at the beginning of the round.

- Three of the current Doom Tower Bosses – the Frost Spider, the Nether Spider, and the Magma Dragon – now all have a new passive skill. That skill is:

Almighty Strength: damage from skills that scale based on enemy MAX HP (including poison detonation abilities) cannot exceed 10% of the Boss' MAX HP when attacking the Boss.

- Two of the current Doom Tower Bosses – the Frost Spider and the Nether Spider – also have another new passive skill. Here's the skill:

Almighty Persistence: all Turn Meter reduction effects are decreased by 50% when used against the Boss.

That's everything! Go ahead and try out these changes for yourself in the new rotation of the Doom Tower. As always, please let us know what you think of these changes on our official forums or over on our Discord.

While I understand why some people are upset, I think this is a good change. I do agree with the one post saying that the wording is weird. I think the intent is really - these new bosses should have new mechnics that can be met/beaten by different champs from the current meta. 

I DO NOT have any max hp champs, and was able to beat them. However, I used TM to get around the mechanics... 

They also did tell us they were going to be tuning them. Personally, I think this is DT, end game content which the intent was to require new teams/comps/etc. to beat, and I think they have that now. 

edit - to clarify my spend level as a lot of folks make assumptions it seems :-), I'm a light spender (monthly gem pack and raid card).

Its  amazing  how  upsidown  the  management  get  those  updates.  They  increased  the  difficult  of  DT  only  for  the  average  player,  whales  just  keep using  4  Septimus  and  clearing  the  bosses  in  15  seconds.

Its  unfair  and  imoral  to  changed  the  rules  after  the  release.  You  had  option to  make it harder  before  its  launch,  dont  change  the  rules  after  the  start.

the biggest change in the new patch is renaming Doom tower to Whale Tower, that said enough

you don't need to spend a single penny to enter or complete the Doom Tower

I dont really care, becasue lets be honest, 99% of the player base, play on auto. THis is not World of Warcraft. So changing the fight mechanics to get us more engaged wont work. If we fail on auto, we will just stop playing, ( similar to the way that no one plays Tag Team Arena).  The DT rewards are more champions that I cant  put books into or have enough high level gear for.  


One thing I am wondering is, what is the reason for having normal and hard DT if you make them both extremly hard? In the second month reset, I was finally able to make it to the top of normal DT and could not do all the rooms. Hard was not an option.  How about you leave normal alone and just tweek Hard. 

ALSO, give us a toggle option to play Clan Boss automatically on auto again.

Great Job you destroyed the DT for the small player completely. And its still no challenge for the P2W player... Instead of making it easier you make it more difficult. Whats wrong with you.  Bad "update" guy very very BAD UPDATE!

Yay, *in the most sarcastic way possible*  I am not a f2p but I'm by no means a whale either. I can barely make it up the toilet tower on easy..... this put me out of the running.... because half the champions you have given me have turn meter in their kit, so thanks for avoiding the strategy you gave me..... so I get basically nothing from shards, and gear that's mostly a joke, now the one strategy that is open to me gets flushed.... I used to enjoy this game..

Very bad update.

As a low-mid level player I struggled already below the middle of normal but that is OK. I do NOT want that every new/average player like me flies to the top - that would defeat the high level purpose of the Doom Tower.

I was also happy that some Champions who slept in my roster (Metalshaper !) found a use other than to become food.

However now you did EXACTLY the opposite of what you said you'd do ! Instead of finding a purpose for MORE forgotten and considered useless Champions by inventing new strategies, you made the Tower doable for LESS of them.

Are the developpers not struck by this so obvious contradiction ? I am very disappointed especially as I spent some time and money (and books !) to create new teams able to tackle at least the first half of the Tower. Now I guess I can just forget all about the Tower and perhaps even about the whole game ...

This update is rediculous.  this is plarium trying to force players to spend money to buy th champs and gear they need to be able to even run this

Instead of making the already hard mobs even harder, you should have added another level of DT

DT  was  hard  enough  as  it  was,  i  could  make  past  the  2nd  mini  boss  on  normal,  now  it  DT  has  been  made  even  harder,  great!  Guess  i  won't  be  doing  DT  anytime soon.  Thanks  a  whole  lot.  Guess  this  game  is  just  like  the  many  thousands  of  other  games  out  there,  in  order  to  succeed  you  need  to  pay  big  money

You realy know how to pander to the 1% whales. 99% of us can't even go past lvl 50 hard.

How can you be so obtuze is mind blowing. Spend thousands of euros to get maybe one essential character and another thousands to farm gear (0.01% actually usable) and then another thousands to get the energy to farm for silver so you can upgrade that gear... 

You really don't care about the base and want so badly people to quit?

I am convinced Plarium doesn't understand how the free-minded people on this planet think. By forcing us and closing paths we want to walk because they are the most enjoyable or efficient ones, you are destroying your base.

They are ripping all the joy out of the game. Game development means, give the player a variety of Choices to come up with optimal solutions. You should be open up the paths for more creativity, not closing doors and narrowing the path. Your main task is to entertain us, so we are willing to spend money on your product, not to annoy us or push us away.

They are already killing any intention on experimenting with Champs and gear by letting silver cost pilling up.

I  got  to  floor  109  on  hard  doom  tower  last  rotation.  So  i  am  fairly  end game.

My  suggestion  would  have  been  to  only  make  these  changes  to  hard  doom  tower,  leaving  normal  as  is.  The  changes  to  normal  are  not  going  to  change  the  level  of  challenge  for  me  or  other  end  game  players,  it  might  slow  down  my  times,  but  that  is  about  it.  I  do  think  it  will  remove  enjoyment  of  doom  tower  for  many  mid/late  game  players.

I barely beat DT hard last time (1 day remaining). With the new changes, I don't think I will progress further than the 1st or 2nd Nether spider. Floor 116 would be an easier fight for me than the Nether spider now LOL.

All jokes aside, do you guys really think that adding several team comp nerfs all at once was the way to go? Nuke comps gone and tm control comps gone. Both of which were the more viable comps that most people were able to build without having a full lego team. I guess the most broken comp on bosses is going to remain untouched though, the poison nuke comp.

WOW, you actually said you will do something, and you did the opposite.

nether spider now will be a blocking point for a lot of players that don't have the specific champs for that fight, Great JOB!

I  cant  beat  frost spider  i  have  no  hero  woth  HP  burn......   i  have  2  gold  dhampions  and  7  purple  chanps  and  no  HP  burn  on  any   of  them  or  any  of  my  blues...

You  have  really  screwed  up  this  time.  Turn  meter  reduction  was  a  valid  strategy.  People  (like  me)  invested  into  this  particular  strategy  because  they  lack  the  champions  to  use  any  of  the  other  valid  strategies.  Now  you  invalidate   one  strategy  because  you  don't  like  it.  I  have  effectively  lost  a  lot  of  resources  now  chasing  that  now  invalidated  strategy.  What  does  that  mean.  I  won't  bother  to  ever  invest  into  any  other  startegy  because  who  is  to  say  that  you  invalidate  that  on  a  whim  next  month  or  the  month  thereafter.  You  have  taken  away  any  incentive  to  ever  build  champions  that  have  only  one  use.  If  I  could  I  would  ask  you  to  refund  me  the  resources  I  put  into  Alure  and  Armiger  because  their  only  ever  use  for  me  was  in  DT  and  I  would  never  have  invested  in  them  without  having  a  valid  strategy!  Idiotic  move  plarium!

I  cant  beat  frsot  spider  becaus  no  HP  burn  champion...  i  have  2  gold  7  purple  and  lots  of  blue  champions

I too couldn't defeat normal tower the first month. I've also only managed to win 4 secret rooms.

But after a month of trial and error, and upgrading some characters, changing gear around, the second month i managed to win the tower and 6 secret rooms. It was far from easy. Some fight took over 30 minutes, had to be done manualy and repeated 20, 30 times, before the win.

It sucks to check Best teams and see, some could do it in a few seconds. With 1-3 chams.


I think normal was hard enough. If you make Hard even harder, i have no objections though I found it dificult enough as it was already (first month i didn't even get to the boss, second month i managed to defeat first one, but no more).

I don't mind, if you need specific champs to defeat the boss, as long as those are uncommon or rares. If i need specific epics or even lego's... of course i won't be happy.


When I saw update on Tower, i though they would make it a bit easier (at least normal mode), not even harder.
