Morag is a strong epic, yes. From your roster, Jareg also stands out. Very good ally protector, which comes in handy for clan boss.

First thing....do not ascend food champions...

I would be taking Warmaiden to 50 for now, while you wait for a good AoE Dec Def epic like Stag, Uugo, Tayrel, Dhukk, Madame, even a Seigehulk, Thylessia, or Fodbor, etc...

Jareg is an excellent old school Clan Boss champ and the best epic on your roster. He's worth taking to 60 to use in Clan Boss and in Dragon. Ally Protector with team Inc Defense is quite good. He pairs this with Dec Atk on his A1, and bonus healing when his teammates are hit hard.

I'd take Jareg to 60 next. Very solid support that's great in boss fights.

Thank you for these great replies. I'll hold off on using this 5* food till I have a better champion to ascend. I'll work on more epics to 50 starting with Warmaiden and Jareg.

But I'm curious about the response in opposition to levelling food champions. I made sure to read various guides early on and they all say that in my phase of the game I should be farming 12-3 brutal for xp.

I think you/he misunderstood. What Matrim was saying was, you shouldn't level/ascend/etc your food champions beyond level 1 of the food-rank in question. And he was saying this, likely, because from your original post, you indicated you had four 5* food champs, and your picture showed 5* champs at level 50.

However, from reading the rest of your post, you indicate your food is in your vault - so, as long as that food is still level 1, you're fine.

Personally, I would go by the star ratings on the champs.  That Morag you mention is only rated "C". Out of a possible S, A, B, C, F.  I think you should find something better in your cluster or just wait. To avoid this in the future, best to make a list and keep things at the ready. This list can also tell you what is worth keeping, as there is a ton of junk champs in this game. I think that is the largest department in Plarium; the junk dealers.

You would be very disappointed later on if you go through all the effort to make a 6 champ and find out it is only rated C. 

By comparison, Ronda is a B.

I am not sure what rankings are being referenced there. You can always check hellhades.com as it is a fairly reputable site from a good content creator for Raid.

As Clan Boss and Dragon farming are your top priorities early on, he is still the champ I would look to upgrade right now.

Hard disagree with you here.  Just because a champ is rated a "C" in some website doesn't mean they aren't a perfect fit for whatever content you are trying to progress in.  A "Dragon GOD" might be trash everywhere else, but a perfect fit for your specific team, and just the thing to get you over the top and into a sub-2 minute farming of Dragon 20...just an example.  Just an example, Bystophus is widely recognized as a mid-tier leggo, but I built him specifically to handle the waves and he did wonders for my Dragon team.  Cut my time in half, 100% success rate.  He may not be the best out there, but he was exactly what I needed.

I found the ratings place that uses letters: raidchamps. They have more ads than the game! omg!

But according to them, two of my epics are rated A: Genbo and Sachi. For rares, Warmaiden and Athel are rated S, and Kael and Bellower are rated A.

I am levelling Warmaiden to 50 at the moment on harle's advice. 

I'm going to wait on using up my 5* food. In a few hours I will hit day 100 (void shard) and complete my third monthly (ancient for the weekly and sacred for the monthly). So at the very least I will have another epic soon.

Warmaiden to 50 is fine for now.

Jareg is 100% the best champ on your account not 60'd though. I would not build Genbo as you have a nuker already built in Ronda. Food is precious.

The same applies to Kael or Athel. Don't build a second or third champ that does the thing your only 60'd champ does. Instead we are looking to build an effective team of 5 60s to fight CB and advance in Dragon. :)

Thank you very much. I was watching a video by Hellhades about CB and I see that and so I will be focussing on Jareg as "Ally Protector" next, unless I get a super pull today. 

But he also said to look for Extend Buff and Counterattack, which I see Duedan has but he only rated Deudan as a 3 star in CB. I wonder why.

A few reasons for that:

• The A1 brings nothing useful, since a conditional debuff removal isn't something you can rely on.
• The A2 has a 4-turn cooldown, which is a lot harder to work into rotations. It's not impossible, but it's far easier to work with 3-turn cooldown moves.
• The A3 only self-buffs, which is quite useless, ontop of not being an attack, making it even more useless.
• His multipliers are all quite weak.
• He brings no debuffs or anything else of value to the team.

His main value is in his Taunt buff, which, if we're being honest, is really quite useless overall, but is especially useless in CB.
