Overall, I don't have a problem with the mods. They have significantly altered the gameplay and changed the "meta" of the game. My issue is that I spent six months farming to get my 16 EM Rifle weapon to purple and max out all my legendary implants. Now, because of the mods, I might as well throw it all away since it's useless. Will there be a free implant removal day? No matter how I look at it, it would cost me 12,000 A-coins just to remove the implants. That's not fair! I can eventually get over the fact that my weapon is useless, though I'm still angry about it. But I shouldn't have to buy coins just because the game has changed... 

Sounds like you do have a problem with the mods and it's the same complaint many of us have. Mods made so many weapons useless especially snipers, which is what they stated was their intent. They've shown time and time again, they don't care about how much time, effort and resources you've invested, if they decide to "rebalance", screw the client/player. 

Yes, they stated implant removal discount is coming back next week. Might be too little, too late. So much damage already done because of mod and then tooling with matchmaking this week.

I've been playing Mech Arena for several years now and have certainly made more than $1,000 in in-game purchases.

I LOVE THE GAME!!!

But I am currently seriously considering turning my back on Mech Arena. The reason is not the game. It's Plarium's corporate philosophy and their ever-increasing greed for money. 

I am always willing to spend my hard earned money for good and hard work. I also understand that you are always developing more game features, not only to make the game more interesting for the players AND to ensure another source of income from a service game. But the recent introduction of mods and how you are trying to force players into additional purchases is no longer respectable.

How can you unleash hundreds of bots against the players right after the introduction of mods, which of course all have fully leveled mods and are therefore of course not defeatable. Then the mods are not really grindable in-game. And you're trying to suggest to players that they can only experience a fair fight again if they buy lots and lots of mods for very, very expensive money.

But you've gone overboard with the "level-up for expensive money implementations":

- Mechs

- weapons

- pilots

- implants

- mods

The startup procedure of your game client alone is enough to make me see more than 10 "purchase offers" for several hundred dollars right at the beginning. And the worst thing at the moment is that you have finally changed the game design to "PAY TO WIN" only approach.

BUT: The amounts you expect players to pay over time in order to continue to have an enjoyable gaming experience far exceed the value of your services in providing this service game.

So: Stop being too greedy and reduce your pricing model to market standards, otherwise you will soon have no more players!!!

Until you fix match making.. Keep your announcements to yourself. You made a mistake by the way you introducing Mods. You could have introduced Mods incrementaly. Instead you went for the quick money. The only other reason would be incompetency. If it's the later, then you owe your players an apology. I'm sure things will even out. Man up and be honest.

Just one question. How is it possible that accs below 30k XP are playing against nodded mechs? Mods are unavailable below 30k XP.

First off, thank you for providing such elaborate feedback. 

Now, coming to the points you covered-

1. The goal was to end sniper weapon dominance, and it has been achieved. Sniper weapons can no longer solo an entire team by themselves, sure, but then no weapon should be able to. Snipers now require picking off unprotected targets, and working with their teammates to take down high value targets. I've played with snipers post mods and they work just fine as long as I remember my own advice.

2. You can actually see the number of layers left on multilayer shields. The icon that shows up next to the enemy's HP bar has a tiny bar at the bottom of the mod icon, which shows you how many layers of shields remain. It's not easy to see, sure, and especially not on mobile, but it is there, and you can get a rough estimate of it after playing enough matches. 

3. Pilots and implants were introduced with the implant removal costs on day 1. When Grade Update happened, a year or so ago, there was a temporary 6 month peiod when you could swap implants for free. Something like that coming back would be very welcome, sure, but as stated by the Community Managers, it's not happening.

From my last post I can say only one about mods, it's ruined game for me. If you don't buy/power up mods by real money, you don't needed in this game. I play several years, when em was added to game, I was be little angry. But now, I have only 1 mech with them, and that's only one mech with sniper weapon in my hangar. And I use it only in specific situations.  If sniper have good position, he can solo all team, yes, but if guy with disc launchers also have good position he also can solo enemy team. Than what? We need to make them also useless? Oh, I forgot, plarium already do it with mods. Problem of sniper weapon is magically gone, when map don't have places, where you can sit and snipe out everyone. Don't you think that sniper weapon problem, must be level designer problem, not players? If you have map, where one player can kill entire enemy team, that's that's not players problem. And it be so, only for people, who don't buy currency for power up mods. Today I died in 1 second two times, from gravitation beam. But when I use it, I spend more then half carge of weapon to do at last any damage, guess why?) If you don't have full mods set with upgrades, you just cannon fodder for bots and people's who spend money. I don't have any hate to those people, that's not they fault. But that's absolutely not normal. 2 years ago, when I don't have any legendary weapon or mech, I got into battle with one guy with full packed hangar, he has all maxed and he has be in enemy team. We lose if course, but we lose 14:15. We teamed up, we control him, and one by one remove his mechs from battle. That was random team, by then I fill how we team up and that was be absolutely fun. We lose, but I was happy, because that's was challenge, I fill it, and I fill that we CAN win in that fight. Enemy was more power than all our team, but we still can do it. Now I fill myself weak, vulnerable and helpless. All that I do in game for those years just gone, I fill like I just started. I understand that game made for making money and I spend it, I spend my money on that game in past, but from now on , no, no more. I don't want to spend my money for something, that betrayed me. That how I feel now. If people how make decision to do that change to game want that result, that ok, they do their choice. And I will make my.

I just wanted to specify that sniper weapons... EM-RIFLE?... are not target lock weapons, they are, in fact, the only realistic weapon left in its use, in fact it is penalized... penalized by the low range of action, and a slow reload, not all shots hit, precisely because you have to put your skill into it. while all the other weapons now have automatic lock-on... for example POD GUN, which curves on the target... and leaves you no escape, launching a series of too fast shots that stick to you EVEN BEHIND A PROTECTION... no it was not the domain of sniper rifles.. one of the few weapons that you have to expose yourself to hit. penalized now to the point of being unbelievable, and made useless by the MODs. you can even get to 7-10 shots without scratching the shield of these BOTs, but it will be like this even after those who manage to improve it.. that said. everything else is fine... no it is no longer correct to define it as legendary, and SNIPER WEAPON..

What makes me worried about Mods is the availability of the Mod-parts.

Right now we have a Derby that gives a decent amount, but i'm worried about how it will be after that, if F2P players are going to get enough Parts or not.

I also noticed that damaging the shield or hull of Mods don't gove you a assist which is pretty annoying.

Ooooooh, so that's why I'm not getting assists, thanks for the info!

Naaaah whaaaat the matchmaking is fine!

I love fighting fully maxed out revoker 12 seekers and ember 12 nomad's when I'm only 9k SP!

Sure you could have more mobile tanks. anything is possible there. Though I'm not sure tanks would carry those types of mods a lot? They could benefit from it but would likely benefit more from additional shielding. And scouts would undoubtedly benefit most from additional mobility. See I was thinking scouts probably won't need canopy shields so a sprint cooldown reduction could be one of the choices in mod slot b and if you want additional raw speed you could take it over additional hp with mod slot c.

But I will admit you could probably get some crazy scary attacker builds with additional mobility. More than with the fortifications? I don't know but it'll be interesting to see. The update was going to shake up the META anyways. Might as well go all in. And because it was already planned the balance could be fine tuned afterwards.

I just want more variety. You have to admit everything having shields and simply being a whole lot tankier is boring.

Well, good news and bad news- playing by the meta always carries that risk; META stands for Most Effective Tactic Available, and as the game evloves, it will change. It changed when EMs were introduced, when Pilots became a thing, when Grade update happened, when Discs got nerfed....each time, the meta changed, and the people who had invested significantly into it had to reconfigure their choices. Of course, the fact that reconfiguring anything in this game costs an arm and a leg pleased nobody, and understandably so. The same was bound to happen with mods, no matter what. There can be no addition to the game that will please everyone. 


As for the implant system revamp, it is in the works, as confirmed by the Community Managers multiple times. We do not know any additional details yet, sadly. 

If it was as simple as a meta shift that would be one thing, mods made high damage builds useless. Granted you're part of the company and yes metas have shifted in multi-player games since the cs mod was introduced to half life and in warcraft 3 or starcraft days, not all your clientele are younger than you. When your investment, or as you're calling the meta which is usually the end game configuration, which hasn't shifted heavily for the mid tier f2p players for the roughly 2 years I've been playing, takes away all the time and currency investment by let's call it 75% overall and your hanger is essentially useless and has to be rebuilt to generally function that's a scam. I was giving a generalized point since a lot of other f2p players are scrambling just to compete, the recent changes to bots has helped the transition heavily, but just understand the community frustration as a whole. I had enough resources to build a second hanger and drop my hanger power by 2k and I became competitive again. It's the sacrifice I chose because I do enjoy the game as a whole, not everyone in the community has that ability or option as f2p.
