I work in IT.  If we let an external facing site go down without some form of customer notification at the least, my entire team would be taken out back and shot.  No backup servers?  Lord knows they make enough money.

I have been able to log in and play, however my husband who is on a different server than me, has not been able to get in at all this morning.
