On the Mech Arena dev team, we're always striving to make the game an engaging and fun experience for all players.
For a while, some Mechs and Weapons have stood out as being more effective than the rest. Your feedback, and our in-depth analysis, has helped us to create a multi-phase plan focused on one goal: creating a dynamic battlefield that allows a diverse range of content and playstyles to shine.
Our goal is not to weaken your current favorite builds, but to raise up the rest of the roster so you have more choices in every match. Here’s what you can expect:
We're announcing a four-stage rebalance that will span November to February and target Mechs and Weapons.
We are committed to an approach that encourages you to try something new and provides you with more options on the battlefield, without driving out any of your existing, hard-earned content.
📆 When?
The first stage of rebalancing will take place 14 days from today, on the 27th of November.
🛠️ What?
Two pieces of content will be nerfed:
Dev Note: Revokers have long dominated the meta, preventing other weapons from fully realizing their potential. To finally give them a chance to shine, we are taking away a bit of damage and range from Revokers, making them a truly close-range weapon that requires better planning to close the distance to the target.
Dev Note: Hemlock has long been an unrivaled controller, at times completely preventing players from taking action, especially in 2v2 and Hangar Showdown modes. To allow other Mechs a chance to contend with its charms, we've made it so that Hemlock cannot constantly keep a target “dazed”. This doesn't kill its potential, but now it will need to better calculate whom to target with the ECM shot ability and when.
Four Weapons will be buffed:
Dev Note: Howler's main problem was the insufficient amount of ammo/charges. We decided to allow it to shoot more often by significantly reducing its reload speed. Now it will be more like a hit & run weapon, and closer to our initial vision for this weapon.
Dev Note: Hellfire has good damage, but its main problem is range. Since we cannot increase the maximum range due to technical complications, we have increased its optimal range and damage, making it lethal at distances up to 40 meters.
Dev Note: Applying Damage Drain status effect to enemies is good, but you also need to be able to outshoot those enemies. Initially, we intended Suppressor to be more of a support weapon, but it wasn't very popular with players in that role. So, we are adding a lot of damage to it to see how it will fare among other brawl weapons.
Dev Note: Savant had great potential, but also a few significant drawbacks that overshadowed its advantages. It relied too heavily on double damage chance for dealing damage, and Mods negated this advantage. Therefore, we are transferring the damage from the double damage chance into more straightforward damage-per-magazine. Also, Savant's projectiles were fired too quickly one after another, often hitting a single layer of a Mod instead of destroying several. We solved this problem by changing the speed at which projectiles leave the magazine one after another, and now Savant will be significantly more effective against Mods.
➡️ What’s next?
We will announce the second stage of the rebalance 14 days in advance.
Once all four stages of the planned rebalances are complete, we will launch a new Seasons system in early Spring to keep the game feeling fresh year-round!
That’s all for today! We believe these changes will smooth out the current power gaps and ensure a constantly shifting, skill-based meta. Please feel free to ask any questions and leave your feedback!
I am loving all the malding from revokers abusers. For god's sake you guys get a grip. Of all the things that could end this so called "game" NERFing revokers a tiny bit reducing their effectiveness but it staying a dominant weapon won't be it.
Didn't we go over this when they did disk launchers NERF and EM rifle too? "Boo boo we put all this money into these items now you NERF them! Now it's slightly less effective. Game is ruine, I want a refund!" You should be going into these investments expecting the item can some day get NERFed or become less effective at ANY time. A weapon isn't going to get immunity for being in MA a while and shouldn't. Any good game does rebalancing when necessary and doesn't make exceptions. Just because you expect it's not going to get NERFed beyond a certain point doesn't mean it shouldn't be. Yeah it's been out for 2 years and i's an f2p weapon that also means its usage is higher than ever. NERFs are based on usage and winning metrics. Revokers were overused and winning too much.
I don't see why you guys are complaining unless you just want unchecked power creep because the only other option to shake up an unchanged META is to buff everything else (much more than they're already doing) or introduc new, even more powerful items. And if you buff everything then new items have to be even more powerful to have the same impact.
"They're doing this to get more money out of us to get us buying new items, just like they did with EM and Disc Launcher!" Yeah you can see it that way it's probably not wrong. But I swear there was not this much uproar when EM or disc launcher got NERFed. It's a bit ahistorical to say the NERF made EMs worthless they were still the best weapon in the game even for some time after the NERF. Mods made them useless. There wasn't this much uproar when mods made the majority of the weapons already in MA useless either though.
There would be an argument here to be made they're just trying to extract more money from us (or you I guess because I'm f2p and I barely play) if perhaps they had fundamentally changed how revokers worked and then introduced a revoker 2.0 like they did with disc launcher (see pod gun). SPEAKING OF POD GUN TOO THERE WAS NOT THIS MUCH UPROAR SURROUNDING THAT EITHER! So many people told me "no it's fine the weapons are totally different the disc launcher will still have its place". Notice how those comments aged? But that's besides the point. If they changed how revokers worked and then later introduced a weapon that functioned very similarly to original revokers fhen there would be an argument to be made there.
Also be real. If they were just trying to extract more money from players why slow the development of new content? They could do like other NERFs and crap out new content until a new weapon eventually replaced it. By focusing on already existing content they're making less money than if they were to crap out a brand new thing. By focusing on old items they're buffing stuff some people already have and already have invested tons of money and resources in so they won't have to invest all the resources needed to level up a brand new thing. Sure plenty of people will have to invest resources. Sure plarium will be making a fair bit of money off it. But they could have done it by doing the same old same old. Instead the game is improved for the players, some of us get to dust off some old weapons and as a consequence plarium will be making more money. In my opinion that's a win/win, a decision with no losers (unless you're a crybaby revokers abuser who can't get over it).
Brief mention for Hemlock too everything I just said about revokers applies to this guy. And screw hemlock especially. Say it's useless outside 2v2 now but IDGAF. I already hated EMP mechs and couldn't care less if any mech whose EMP can be triggered with the press of a button was removed from MA entirely. Hemlock took it to another level by being able to lock down opponents indefinitely. So it's useless in all modes but 2v2 now that's far better than before where it was absolutely broken in 2v2 because of its EMP capabilities. I will also cast down upon it being useless in other game modes you probably just have to pick the right time and mech to use the ability on now, maybe more suited to being a mech you use on an organized squad. Can't no skill spam it or use it without supporting teammates. "Oh it's not a support mec anymore" actually no it's far more in line with that now. If you're trying to support bots maybe it's another story but good luck doing that good luck with that anyhow XD
YEAH THAT MAKES SENSE! You can buy back every stat youl crooks are stealing with implants and nothing changes except you sell tons of implants at 30 to 50 bucks each plus the 200-700 dollars required to upgrade EACH and it's no more equally.
Matched than before and everybody gets screwed. Well except you. You get ferraris.

Every stat some of us payed INSANE money for can just be added back for ANOTHER 1000 dollars LITTERALY, WITH IMPLANTS. SHOCKER
Still, you should have known what you were signing up for before you dropped $1000 on a game that isn't worth $10
All you've told me is you're a sucker. You're complaining because it feels like your money was wasted now. What you don't get though is it was already wasted. You need to re-think your life choices. If you're that upset get a refund. Your account might get banned for a year or something but you could have some peace of mind that $1000 isn't just gone from your life.
