Disc Launcher is getting nerfed!

{First problem}:

i

By the way, with "adjusting" the DMG of Arc Torrents they mean nerfing the DMG, you can see that in the post they made on the Forum.

[To the Devs and Plarium and ChrystalDrew]:

My Discs 8 do both sides combined 91k DMG on the front, the players i get put against are 2000SP stronger than me and have way more HP than 91k, they can reach up to 180k. Without the side- and back-DMG, what am i supposed to do against them?

You can do the other nerfs, they make some sense, but removing the side and back DMG goes too far.

And the Arc Torrent DMG nerf it stupid. It was already a bit replaced by Ember Gun and this is just throwing salt over the wounds of it.

{Second problem}:

i

[To the devs and Plarium]:

"experienced players" is a weird statement, define experienced. Someone who played over 6000 Battles and is 5k SP or someone that bought every mech with his wallet and only has player 2000 battles?

[To all players]:

We all know this is just gonna be another money grab.

I made a thread about this. And I told another person outside mech arena what's going on in the game. They said what plarium's response is going to probably be, and that'll be what you see Drew say. They're going to fall back on the fact that people complained about disk launcher being overpowered before the NERF like "hey don't be mad at us, you wanted this" as if it's relevant to the reasons players are upset now. And they are probably right, they did that with EM rifle. They fell back on players complaints prior to the NERF. However EM Rifle stayed META. I cannot see anywhere near the same future for disk launcher.

BTW you forgot to mention these changes are only coming off the introduction of a similar weapon. We have reached the "old META out, new META in" point of degradation of MA.

I understand why they want to nerf it. Railgun, EM Rifle and Disc Launchers dominate the arena. The DMG fall off that starts beyond the optimal range (60m, to be honest, it's not supposed to be a long range weapon, it's a mid range weapon) and DMG reduction the further away you are from the center of the splash make sense (tho they also need to apply that to any other radius weapon), the biggest problem is that they are going to remove side and back DMG. Aside from me getting a hard time because i would be barely able to kill any bots or any opponents at that point, Railgun and EM Rifle would dominate the arena even more. You can't just nerf one weapon of those 3 weapons, that would cause the other 2 weapons to become stronger. The three META weapons are in balance with each other. Removing one of them makes the others way stronger.

And this is what I think as well. Except I'll add that it shouldn't be doing less damage outside its optimal range either. But plarium decided to neuter the weapon because they want to sell pod gun.

Hello! Now, Arc Torrents and Disc Launchers will require some skills from a player. Moreover, they will meet their Grades and Classes, as now these boundaries are kinda erased compared to other Content.

Disk Launcher will be useless. Arc torrent needed no changes and already required skill.

REMEMBER the EM-RIFLE nerf. and so on, it's the practice, the more you spend, the more you waste money... because you have nothing left, but you will need to buy the new one, and that's the point, if I don't like the new one, and I would like to use my favorite weapon, you won't be able to, because they will have weakened it to the point that you will tickle your enemy. all this just so that you spend thousands of euros again to repower a new branch. MECH ARENA is based only on this, don't expect new game systems or maps.

Anything you want, but arc torrent didn't require any modifications, on the contrary... but, all this will serve to further alienate players. like myself, now reduced to 2 games a day, and it makes me want to go out. you are not on the right path. then if you only love those who have money and are rich. write it clearly, in the description, ....GAME ONLY FOR RICH PEOPLE.. so you avoid controversy in the forum, since it is 92% negative controversy...... take care

I can understand a small nerf for DLs but nerfing Arcs is moronic. Very few players use them in end game. It's already a bitch to kill high HP mechs with arcs without running out the magazines.

Unfortunately this isn't a small NERF to DL. Rather, there are 4 different changes being implemented to disk launcher and it's going to neuter it

Its great how CD subtly suggests Arc and Disc didn't require some skill from players before. Community Manager burn. 😂

Hmm, I don't see/remember me saying something like this. I meant that if a player wants to use Arc Torrents and Disc Launchers to have the same efficiency as it was before, they will need to use some other more advanced tactics and strategies.

There is no doubt that the current versions of these Weapons require skills as well, but we will make them more complicated to use so they will meet their Grades and Classes.

"Now," as in: not before.

"Arc Torrents and Disc Launchers," the subject.

"Will require some skill from a player," the statement made.

Haha. It's okay, CD...you just confirmed what everyone else was thinking. How did you say it in that other thread? "[Disc Launcher is] very easy to use, but at the same time, it has enormous damage." That really sums up the meta in this game: very easy to use, with enormous damage. If your teams aim was to rebalance to make weapons "meet their grade and class", I have to wonder, why did you further overpower the already very out of grade and out of class new meta weapons? It seems like these need a serious recalculation.

FRIEND it will always be like this, every thousand euros you spend are money wasted, even 10 euros are wasted, because the recycling of weapons is relatively short, that's why out there is full of kids who play with the low hangar, and win Always. and they don't spend, they understood this a long time ago, and I agree with them.

Talking about DLs, their current state is kinda out of boundaries, which negatively affects other Weapons, including already released and new ones. The upcoming rebalance must tune the balance a little bit, but still, it's not something dramatic.

According to our calculations and testing, the new Weapons don't negatively affect the current balance. If we notice some deviations or stuff, we will take care and inform the community 'bout that 👌

🤣 No doubt! 😉 😉

Is it fair to ask why it took around two years to realize DL is "kinda out of boundaries"? I mean, much like the new meta, players have expressed how completely OP discs were in the current state since their release. Can we expect this same "timely" care with the new stuff?

Basically, a lot of Content was released during these two years, so of course, the balance has changed (changed, not broken), and boundaries have become blurry

What boundaries exactly? Because they stopped functioning as guided weapons the moment the pilots update dropped. Players realized it was a problem soon after. It took you two and a half years to do anything about it. It's not like they became used more to deal splash damage gradually over time. It's not like after some long period people suddenly realized they were best used this way. No, the only thing that's really changed since that pilots update 2 and a half years ago is you've released new content. And only when you release a weapon that does pretty much the same thing do you NERF it.

Stop trying to avoid the issue here and act like there's any good reason it took you this long to make changes to disk launcher. Stop trying to avoid the issue that you only change disk launcher after releasing a weapon that does the same thing. Stop trying to tell us we don't know what's going on here.

Why can't you just own that it took far too long to change disk launcher? Why can't you own it was bad timing to change it with the release of pod gun? Why can't you own the weapons are suspiciosly similar? "Oh but it's different because it has a delay before detonating" Wow big difference. I suppose you count the difference in optimal and max range considerable as well. Is plarium trying to save face for pr reasons? How do you think that's going to work out? Or is plarium testing excuses for when they NERF items to sell us the very same thing again in the future?

During the mentioned two and a half years, we released multiple Mechs, Weapons, and stuff. Step by step, the balance has been changing (not being broken, though). Now, the time has come to optimize Arc Torrents and Disc Launchers. It's nothing new or special, but we are trying to minimize such a practice
