Reasonable demands:
Open a line of communication to your customers, who will otherwise spend their money elsewhere. How is no-one from Plarium apologising/explaining what is happening. Customer service 101.

Just communicate. Honesty will be rewarded by your playerbase even if you haven't found the problem yet.

1) You know about the situation. This post went up 12 hours after the game got unplayable and we were given a maintenance reward.

Personally this is what I think should be done for compensation:
Since the troubles started several days ago, and progressively got worse culminating (during Dominion) in the cascading server failures and extreme lag the few times we were able to finally get in for a couple of minutes then -
1) shield everyone for 1 week,
2) give everyone 2M gold, 1k 24hr boosts, 1k hero's crystals, 500 each of the errand refreshers, and 500 of each level of stamina and faith boosts
3) match all purchases made by anyone during today's problems and the previous 48 hrs.
4) Reset everyone's bank buy levels to the lowest tier/minimum.
In my eyes, that would be a fair compensation for the frustration, the loss of play time, the loss of rewards during dominion, and (for the most part) should help cover the costs of anyone that lost troops/got zeroed out during this period.
Still down, I tried 4 times to log in and it failed to load all 4 times. I can't even get to the point to apply another shield and I'm not about to keep trying mindlessly when the game is clearly broken right now.
