I just saw a screenshot of a level 7 Shamam with 155% boosts. to stats. Its obvious that the owner got the Shaman to play whack-a-mole in Hamlets.
One of the most popular, incredibly wrong ideas in the game is that Hamlets are good only to be attacked. This is a very popular idea in the DarkPlains.
But its a terrible, terrible idea. And it's wrong.
I get that this a war game. but let's be honest, attacking a hamlet is a terrible idea. especially on the higher levels like level 100+.
I know this is a popular idea, and most people have been indoctrinated to believe that attacking a hamlet is a good idea.
Here are some reasons why attacking a hamlet is a bad idea.
You can only attack hamlets with a force limit of 250 000. Even with the strongest army, you have no chance. The strongest attack can be with about 100 000 Gargoyles, which offers 1 400 000 000 offence.
You can initially capture a hamlet with 250 000 force limit. However, you latter reinforce it, without any limit. Additionally, you can call for help in defending your hamlet. In a Diamond tire league, with most players at 100+ level, the amount of players who can contribute defense is anywhere from 10-160. So it's 1 vs 160 when you attack a Hamlet.
If the Hamlet holder has maxed his Eagle nest, he gets 20% boost to his defense. This is the same amount of boost offered by a Fortress. Not only that, but there are more boosts.
At level 15 of Paragon Status, you get 25% boosts when attacking a Hamlet.
A Maxed druid at level 7 can offer 165% defense in Hamlet. That is a terribly high number.
There are other boosts applied when defending a hamlet. There fortress boosts, relics, and so on. Defending a hamlet gives you about 20 times more defense boosts than defending a fortress.
My conclusion
Its far safer, to defend hamlets than attack them. Yes, there are other benefits like the seige mechanism. But given that the siege mechanism is also applied when taking beacons, fort, and a castle, it really doesn't count. in fact, if a Hamlet is defended with the same amount of defense as some corner beacons, then the benefits of holding a Hamlets outweigh those of holding a beacon.
N.B The point of this post is not for everyone to gang up on me. But to show how certain popular advices are actually bad. So before you flame the post and try to gang up on me, or comment about something that doesn't answer the question I posted, please try to understand that my intention was not to go on debated with you.
Have fun. And I hope to read of some of the advice you heard, and how they are terrible ideas.
