@Lady J
There is process of selecting a moderator, and many factors are considered. I can't provide specifics but Oberon or one of the CM can.
@ The Stormfall Community
The process of choosing moderator is complex, and always the best man/woman is selected. I might not be the Ideal SUPER MOD, but I like to think I am the Ideal member of these community. I was here almost everyday, and will continue to do so. Simply because I love the game, and I love helping people.
I too doubt my capacity and expertise. It wasn't my attention to apply, at first I nominated DJ, but latter I applied and I was chosen. And I will not disappoint you, because I work for you. I will continue to answer your questions, not because I know but because I care, AND I will continue to amuse you in all I can.

good luck in your new responsibility, and i was impressed that they chosed you but i am not bad whith you or against of it, anyone deserve a chance and respect
good luck and be your self no need be expert on something when you do something like that apart from knowledge you need to be human,to be yourself,
be authentic always help and improve the communication regardless of how well you know the game, some moderators probably did nt help so much in the game section but they improved the communication in the forum we should nt underestimate it

tbh, looking back at your posting history, you gone from somewhat been critical towards plarium and their actions, towards how far you can bend over now recently. So the question might rise did you become a mod due to the "rewards" a mod benefit of ingame. Or because you have some illusion of might make a difference? A certain farewell thread of a mod recently, describe very well that is not likely or possible due to how Plarium work.
i noticed the recent kissup change by oracle, must have worked. the change seemed to happen after his did posts.
the main thing i still do not agree with is the positive attitude and caring priority. the priority must be knowledge and facts as well as the ability to change the actual gameplay in a positive beneficial manner.
being a player mod is tough, i would never want to do it, you're welcome. but if you take on the job, facts are more important than rainbows and unicorns. i hope you are actually on a growth path IRL and that it will show up in the forums.
my stance on plarium game/business model will always remain the same, but best wishes to you, oracle, and all the player mods.RandomDrop said:

Just out of curiosity I would like to know how moderators are chosen. The recent addition to the team makes me wonder.
I would think a moderator should actually know something about the game and provide correct feedback to players.Jez, its just like the forums contests. I tested a theory after Jummy won sapphires for an incorrect answer during a contest..If you speak enough truth and it embarrass plarium they will try and pay you off. This new mod did this by proving that that you get better deals on the packs via your IP connection.
My test was.... I went total ham here being the biggest ass I could then entered a contest and viola.. 10k sapps to my account, even tho my response was totally made up. :)
I can guarantee that thing about IP addresses wasn't why he became a moderator, because that was ridiculous and most people knew it was ridiculous. I don't know why he was made a moderator (the information may be available somewhere, but I haven't seen it), but it wasn't because he discovered some secret conspiracy in plarium and they had to buy him off.
Congratulations on winning your sapphires tho.wheres my pay off? i just get suspended. i got suspended once for posted the name and address of person who created Master.

in fact.... my earlier post in this thread was deleted. lol.
If a post is deleted it is simply not visible for most people Moderators and Community Managers can still read them. They are archived with all other posts in the thread. That is how posts can be restored and closed threads can be reopened but normally are not.IronApex Turok said:

btw... when a mod deletes your post, does your post count remain the same? or does it drop?

what was that nonsense you just spouted off? do you even know the answer to my question or did you just want to pipe in with a random fact to throw everything off track?
since you have access to "deleted" posts...go back and read my post that was deleted. after a year... you re still doing it.
can a moderator that actually knows the answer reply? does the post count under my avatar remain the same when a post is deleted?
When a post is deleted your post count remains the same (I just tested it with your previous post).brunsonthomas said:

The answer has already been provided by Brunson. Your post is just archived for a limitted time, Moderators CM and administrators can still see it. Your post count( topics) stay the same.
The reason for these is to keep the history of the forum, so latter on it can be restored, or used as evidence against you.
With comments, answer has been provided by Bioharzard. They stay the same, and Moderators, Community managers and Administrators can still see them on the topic, with a post deleted on the left.
Well being a mod also come with certain perks and rewards. If it seems like you undergo a whole persona transformation in the process of become a mod, People might start to wonder if there is any agenda behind it. Just sayingWhy all the angst about mods? As far as I know this is a volunteer position and they do their best, even when subjected to trolling.
Personally, Mods such as Brunson do a great job and don't deserve constant questioning of their decisions.
Yeah the moderator who had never actually posted on the forums was a bit odd, I'm not sure how he was chosen.Trentos said:

It is certainly a shame for the good mods that the program has been tarnished too many times by, the irrational choices of Plarium (e.g. the less than 10 posts mods, we even had a zero post mod once), the simply bad mods and quite often than not the completely absent ones.
