It's possible but we have very limited information so far about where stuff will be coming from.
Hopefully seasonal Live Arena will be an improvement as well.

The new currency (materials for relics) looks to be primarily coming from live arena.
It is always hard to quit a game after four years time investment, but i think the determination to force live arena down my throat will be the push i need to finally stop playing to be honest.
So much about it is frustrating - despite being in silver (as i havent been playing the mode) i seem to regularly be matched against 25 million+ power players with the narses/ankora combo, a super fast armanz (faster than mine at 395 speed) and a couple of mythics so despite being in silver my win rate is about 60% . I have no idea how they find so many players in silver with these rosters.
All too often when i do match, i have to sit waiting forever for the opponent to pick or to move
And i have a specific time of day when i can play without a problem. Arena is closed at that time of day so if i even want to do my advanced quests i have to try and log in later in the evening.
I know lots here love the mode, but i doubt i am alone in really disliking it. If engagement was currently good they would not be adding the quests etc

I'm in S2 and I must have missed something in an update about matchmaking cos I don't know why the teams I'm matched with are S2 teams, because I just get the same teams as you, I'm endgame FTP and don't have mythics or the huge hitters and I'm wiped out most battles, so now if I have time when it's open I may play, but geez the pick time and matchmaking is just draining and actually better not to bother

I am in tag G3 at present, and the picked teams i see in live silver are around the same level as tag G3.
Plarium have always thought it is a good idea to ignore the actual bracket you are in and instead match-make by player power. Its ridiculous of course, but it is what it is.
I guess i would hit gold eventually if i persevered but its more about the inconvenient time for me and as you say the delayed picking etc. It is definitely draining
Personally i am taking a break to see if i want to play. Games are supposed to be fun, so why spend time doing things on a game i dont enjoy such as live arena etc?
I pulled my long hoarded shards this weekend and got a bunch of OG legos of no use whatsoever to me (lanakis, my 4th blind seer, valk, foli and pinthroy (best of the bunch) ) and after that uninstalled to take a break for at least until after xmas.

You are not end game if are complaining about silver live arena. Live arena doesn't even begin until gold. It's exhibition season still for you...

Agreed, you can usually tell right then if youre gonna win or lose. Or at a minimum which one you have a better chance at happening.
I'd say 80% of matches are decided b4 the draft... Gear
My only "problem" with this game is the same with all Free to Play games. If you don't/won't/can't spend money to play, the Pay for Everything crowd your kick your ass at every turn.
Myself, I can't. But at least you can easily spot them sometimes. How can a level 40 champin kick the sit out of one at level 60? Bought and paid for gear...

I have to think that it is something that most of us won't care about too much other than making sure we get in the battles that we need to stay at the level we need. Whales will be fighting for the top stuff and I would think for top whales this would be the olympics.

If each account can only get 1 book per month, and this is still the first month, i don't think it's possible to datamine it yet.
I agree, live arena are painfull to play. I am rank 20k so there cant be so many playing live arena consider i only do it a few times per week. My problem with live arena is that there are no rewards for failure. Just please give us some rewards for losing too so it dont feel as a waste of time. If plarium want active players they need change the win 5 games chest to play 5 games chest to attract more players.
