4 Simultaneous Serpent's Will Buffs - WTH

Plarium has this to say in the FAQ

If two new Hydra Heads appear at once, only one receives the [Serpent's will] buff. But what if I manage to kill more Heads at the same time? - If you cut down 3 exposed necks at a time, 2 of the 3 new Heads will have the [Serpent's will] buffs. If you dispose of 4 necks at once, still only 2 of the new Heads will have the [Serpent's will] buffs. If you kill exposed necks one by one, this rule doesn't apply, and they might all end up with the [Serpent's will] buffs. However, we expect that facing all the 4 heads at once with the buffs will be a rare occasion. 

That is most definitely a load of BS.  I had all four heads respawn one right after another on my very first trial key on Hard Hydra today...4 minutes into the fight.  So much for "a rare occasion."  

It seems that the intent of this piece of the update is to prevent heads from being nuked immediatley upon respawn by Trunda teams or other teams that figure out how to do Trunda-esque damage. I get that.  However this is actually MORE PUNISHING for teams that do less than Trunda-esque damage because they are far less likely to nuke multiple severed necks simultaneously, and when they are spaced at all, then all the heads get the buff when they respawn, and in my brief experience, having 3-4 heads respawn with the buff is happening quite frequently. 

If this is indeed supposed to be a "rare occasion", then there needs to be an adjustment to the coding.

Yep, unfortuantely this is happening way more often than I think they wanted it to... A big part of the problem is that the decap heads have turns OR damage to respawn... I was hoping it would just be damage.

But yeah since all the Hydra Head speeds are different, on Brutal or Nightmare I'm noticing now I can't fully deplete two heads simultaneously so they're respawning back to back with the Serpent's Will buff which is leading to a chain of respawns that result in what you're experiencing too... 4 heads with full damage reduction. 

Also I might be wrong but this seems to really screw over using the Leech debuff for survivability?

It really sucks too right now with the AI attacking Heads with Serpent Will despite there being others without the buff...

I have now finished my NM key and my Hard key, and I spent way more time futzing around with various comps than I should have, but I was trying to get a solid sense of the changes.

I believe that the people that are complaining that this Hydra update is going to impact lower level players far more than end-gamers are 100% correct.

I did run a somewhat different team than my typical NM team, but I was able to do 78% of the total damage of my highest NM key ever with only 67% of the turns, so the impact on my NM dmg/turn was negligbile and possibly even improved.  Time will tell on that when I run my typical NM team for comparison.

On Hard, I ran multiple comps on both Auto & Manual and the very best was only 33% of my best Hard key (again, somewhat different team though).  The Hydra heads and the severed necks die so quickly that they spend way too much time with 3-4 heads having the Serpent's Will buff, so you are doing literally nothing, and then you kill Mischief and reduce the TM of the three heads that have Serpent's Will so you can do nothing for even longer.

For reference, this is not a Trunda (or Trunda-esque) damage team.  Just a run-of-the-mill Razelvarg squad with affinity debuffers.  It is my weakest team, but it is a team that a lot of mid-gamers would love to have, and I think this is most representative of the impact there:

Now I am futzing with a Brutal key cuz I got that stupid daily quest after spending hours on Hydra yesterday.  Thanks for the headache Plarium.  

I am 20 minutes into the run and this is the third or fourth time that I have three simultaneous Serpent's Will buffs.  The stupidity of this is beyond words:

Why strawberry?  What you got against Pink cows?  That's where strawberry milk comes from right?  Since chocolate comes from the brown ones obviously.

It's Marius and the AoE Max HP Dmg.  Last week, he did 35% of your total damage, and this week, he did 42%.  He is capitalizing on the bigger hits against the severed necks.

Probably the same thing for Trips in that other thread.
