How many people play this game?   << I have no clue tbh >>

How many in G4 tta? 2500 (including me)

How many Plat pushers? <1000 I assume

How many in G3+ live? < 500 (I'm like 950 in low g2 so this is a guess)

Whatever the answer is to question #1 we can subtract all the f2p who would disappear and all of those krakens would still be stomping the same people.  The sharks needing a large pool of minnows is a complete fallacy.

I'm not saying they *need* them, I'm saying that generally speaking, someone who purchased a competitive edge takes the same joy from winning unfair fight as a more evenly-matched one.

I'm also basing this mostly on more pvp-oriented games I've played in the past. I have no idea what plat even looks like in tag or live, and only brief glimpses in classic

Edit: also, in my personal experience, which is anecdotal and an insufficent sample size to draw a meaningful conclusion, those who spend a lot tend to be more upset by a loss to someone who doesn't.

pretty sure you've missed the point for several posts now but having knowledge in one unrelated field - no matter how special you think that field is - doesn't automatically mean you know anything about another. 

hence why I don't go asking my mechanic about string theory or my butcher about how to best prepare for a marathon. 

I'm neither a butcher nor a marathoner, but I would wager his advice would involving eating meat.

Yes you are subsidising us ftp players, i agree.

I have no idea why people would spend those sums on a mobile game - if you have bought any success in a game, where does the satisfaction come from? In gaming doesnt satisfaction normally come from demonstrating skill or tactics?

You are missing one thing, i would imagine krakens want to play on a popular game with millions of players- not some game with a few thousand players that nobody ever talks about. That is what the game would be if the ftp players disappeared.

Life is not fair.  It never has been and never will be.  There will always be those who have more money and more power than you.  This is a casino based game.  What successful casino offers F2P?  None.  F2P is needed to build a player base, to build a social media following.  Once that is done, F2P has little value.  

Whales can buy 1,000 shards and get champs you may never have.  So what, if they can buy champs outright?  Most of this game is PvE.  You can still excel at DT, CB and other battle types.  So what if you cant compete on PvP level?  

There is still a huge amount of this game that can be played F2P.  You can spend hours every day for FREE.  Be happy with what you have.  Stop expecting a game to be fair.  Do your best and compete.  I get a huge thrill whenever I climb a level in any venue.  I get a huge thrill when I pull a godlike lego.  That success is from my effort, the community who helps me and my meager credit card.  

Smile and be happy.

Yes  and if they manage to alienate and drive away enough of the ftp for it to be a 'smaller game with fewer players than the next big thing' it is an issue for the developers as it will bleed spenders.

Do i really care that they are selling champs now? - not really

Are there a few ftp players that have been playing for 4000 years and compete with the krakens? yup - heck i am g4 tag myself most of the time.

Has the game got much more p2win in the last couple of years, definitely.

You can def F2P casinos. They also will give you lots of perks to get your money. Kind of like raid handing out freebies here and there to suck you in. If you spend enough time there they will get your money. 

What games do you play in a casino for FREE?

I dont want to derail this thread. So easiest examples are most card games where you can sit for long hours while risking little or even make money. Use of players cards and assorted programs to earn comps that can easily outweigh losses. Like free seven day log in champs casinos will give you offers like free match plays, free spins, free tournaments to get you in the doors.

So let me rephrase as you are not going to play games for "free", but when done right your weekends entertainment is free and the games as well.

Is there confirmation that Xena wont be pullable from any shard like any other champs ?

Seems like she wont be during champion pass , then will be on a few 10x events to pull her but nowhere did i find if she can or cant be pulled normally like any other legendary champs after champion pass..

To me it seems the 10x for champ pass legendary after its done is just to give extra chance to pull it and not the last chance .. but didnt read much into it either ..

"But for this integration, at least, there’s another way! When the Champion Pass is live, we’ll launch weekly Summon Boost Events for the first two months. The featured Champion will be available in the Summon Pool during those Boost Events, so everyone will have a chance to recruit them. "

Gotta assume that like Ninja, Ronda, and Alexsandr, once the event ends there will be no way to obtain her.

that whats bugged me .. both of those only mention chance to recruit and increase chance of summoning , leading to believe she wont be time exclusive , but plarium like always aint very specific on those...
