That's an excellent question.  I do not know but in all honesty he's the best offering.  It seems most likely as long as you have an active account during the time he's available you could claim him.  Perhaps the mods can verify?

Not sure of this either, but you may be able to wait until he's available, start a trial account, collect him, and be sure to cancel the trial before the first payment and get him free.

Be patient.  It's already becoming a nuscience for me.  I've had the pop up 3 times in the last hour even though I've already claimed the reward. And it now shows up in the news and still shows a red dot even though I've already clicked on that several times.  And you have several weeks or a month to collect. 

You're perhaps reading too much into me saying I cannot speak to whether something can or cannot work. :)

Great. When I got to the page it had automatically filled in the player ID, so I assumed that it had filled in MY player ID. So I put in the promo code, and it told me that the rewards had been sent to my inbox. Turns out it was the wrong player ID, and now I can't use the promo code to get the reward.

The announcement yesterday didn't say anything about having or creating an amazon prime account. Why would they? It's just another way for them to make money by making a deal with amazon. Sure I'll sign up for an account I'll never use if there's a free trial. I'll simply cancel before the trial period ends. I haven't spent anything on this game (I'm not an idiot. It's just a game. Your life's not going to end it you don't have this or that) and I'm not going to start now.

If you region doesn't offer Amazon Gaming Prime, unfortunately no.

Seems a bit weird, I mean don't get me wrong I am all for freebies, I already have prime so it's thank you for the gifts, but for those who don't have Prime presumably the idea is to encourage players to sign up - hence my confusion, over the months there is nothing that is worth the sign up fee, maybe Genbo, but I doubt for most players that isn't a big enough inducement to pay a monthly fee to prime

If they wanted more prime members they should have made the last gift worthwhile, - a limeted edition Legendary for example that you could only get if you had subscribed through the duration of the event
