Ppl forgot distributive factor...8/2(1+3)...means 8/ ((2×1)+(2×3))....8/(2+6)....8/8...answer is 1. Anytime you get confused on ( )...use distributive factor...it simplifies the problem 😉

BEDMAS  Brackets Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.  In that order.  8/2  x  4=

4 x 4 = 

16 is the answer
