You know this would be a lot more impressive if there was something more than people chanting the same thing over and over. There is no reason given as to why anyone should listen to the mob in this thread. Also, it only has a handful of score of people signing on. These forums, from what I have seen aren't very active at all and likely any such protest thread would have to amass thousands upon thousands of posts to be truly noticed. And even then things are unlikely to change. So how about this? Instead of whining and moaning and shouting about nothing, the community gets its act together, hammers out a detailed and well explained list of perceived grievances and presents that. From that point you can at least start a dialogue.
Just going Listen to us! won't do anything.
There are a few common threads , but most recently , this was sparked after the latest update, and the realization of what it meant to the free player. Look at the new agreements thread in news.
There are also calls for other things, like fixing the memory leak in the windowed mode , cash and DNS resolving issues in profiles , and other bugs.
There are concerns about the bloat of 'busy work' in the game and other mechanic issues , but the biggest impact by far is going to be the marginalization of the free player. This game is an MMO .. the first M stands for MASSIVE. The game will not be that if you make the free player irrelevant as they make up the majority of the population. Most pay players dont want it to be impossible for free players to affect them, too , as this removes a challenge aspect for them.
The concern is that this will change the game so much that its going to eventually reduce Sparta game to a shadow of its former self. We want to prevent this. Its a lot more than whining.
That said , your proposal has merit. We might benefit from having the main concerns listed , signed and sent to someone in a position of authority at plarium... if anyone there is brave enough to open an ear and allow it. I suppose we might try messaging our community forum leader to begin with.
