There are serious concerns with the dynamic and how its going to play out with free vs paid players as the gap in performance will likely widen between the 2.
You will need large storage over level 20 , and now you wont be able to kill large amounts of offense left out easily.
Also , one of the decent aspects of the game was that you could , with little attention service all aspects and get on with your day. Now the additional aspects are becoming tiresome to a wider fraction of the community.
There is talk among some established coas that this will change the game dynamic for the worse in the end. Im not sure if its wise to do it this way, and am concerned that this may permanently harm your paid as well as free player base (its certainly going to impact the latter more, and the type of game this is NEEDS a large free player base to make the game more appealing to the paid player).
Im trying hard to remain positive here but I am dismayed at how the general and now this are widening the gap between the casual and the fanatical player. I suspect this will significantly reduce the player base across the board. Its upsetting because Ive put a lot of effort into promoting the community in my coa. Its a huge time investment potentially going to waste.

Do not change the proportions of offensive and defensive troops. No problem with the amphitheater no problem with new lvls...
Simply lvl 32 for offensive troops should boost them 70% in offence valua and 70 % in defense value. Not 440% in defence value (example agema) and of course same goes for defense troops , no need to boost the offensive value of defenbsive troops.
Each troop type should have its correct use and its big weakness as it was up to now

You must know that they have already tried it before to change that. Because for Plarium Games, the biggest reason is that players quit the game, is when they loose their offence army.
There was indeed in the past about 1 year ago a topic about it by Leonidas. With the question if they should change the offence and defence army from the troops. The result was no.....
But they changed it now without any question about it. So for Plarium Games, this is still the mainreason why players quit the game.
I leave it open for the moment if it's because they get counterattacks or did they loose their offence army in a fight or at the Persian Positions ? I assume Plarium Games can answer that question.
There are soo many options you can protect your offence army now. So if you don't use them, then you don't know the game at all. So whas there a need to boost the defence side from offence army to prevent losses ? NO.
But if you count only the losses but never look at the causes, then of course you could take the wrong conclusions Plarium Games
Let me give you an example; I have several members in my own coalition that quited the game after they lost their offence army. But they lost their offence army in a total unfair way. They did the Persian Positions or attacks at other in the game. They decided to go offline and put the all their troops in the acropolis. They all thought there where save. Till the next day they logged in again and saw a report of an attack with the result that they lost all their offence troops. Because there was a lag in the game, they saw all their troops going in the acropolis but in reality the game didn't do that and all their offence troops (actually all their troops they had send to the acropolis) stayed outside
We all know the answer from Plarium Games; 'clear you cache',' relog in again ' to check if all the game mechanics went well and all that stuff. Who made the mistake here ? The player or Plarium Games ? Plarium Games as we all know has the most lags on the game and that for all the online games on the internet. Did they ever solved that issue ? NO . It's always the players fault....
And then you have also the players that couldn't log in after a maintenance. They had also offence troops outside their city, because they had send out raids. The result is that they couldn't put their troops in the acropolis, even they tried several times to log in at the game. You think that these players where happy with what happend ? Not at all.
So if you think that Plarium Games ever cares about gamestrategie , you are totally wrong. They had to find a solution for the complains they had with the gamelags and the result that offence troops stayed outside because of the gamelags. That's the mainreason you have to keep in mind. And never the gamestrategie, because that's the last of the concerns for Plarium Games.

It doesn't mean that your Units will become weaker in Defense. It's just an additional bonus to their current stats. How can that bring any harm?
Let's check the example:
You have Defensive Units in garrison. They have a high Offense value. If they are attacked by Offensive Units, they won't use the Offense stat to kill the enemy. they will use their Defense stat.
And vice versa.
If you are attacking with Offensive Units, they won't use the Defensive stat to protect themselves, as the only stat that counts there is Offense.
Units use the second stat (which is Offense for Defensive Units and Defense for Offensive ones) only when they are used in inappropriate way - like when you attack with Defense or defend with Offense.
Of course having an opportunity to attack with Defense or protect with Offense will give some more space to players that are specialized on Offense or Defense only. Now they will be able to complete PPs that they couldn't complete before, and use their Units in more situations than earlier.
It's confusing, it's something big and completely new, and it will take some time to adapt and adjust. But let's try first
Again, you are not seeing the whole picture. You are pushing the non-coiner or occaisional spender out of the game. The only people who will be able to get to level 32 are those with Platinum Mastercards or Visas at hand to do it. Large amounts of resources are needed for these upgrades and will take months, even more so than getting to level 20 updates.
Emh... the building called ''amphitheater'' isn't an amphitheater but a colosseum. How much do you game devs actually know about history of Greece?
Amphitheaters were in Greece and was used for performances. (like theater, not gladiator fights.) Also they weren't round, but only half circle
Colosseums were full circles like the amphitheater in your game.
