I'm saying every battle is massively one-sided in that they arent remotely equal.
One person can stomp the other, who wouldn't make a scratch on thier team.
I'm not saying I'm always the one getting stomped, nor am I always the one doing the stomping, but about 90% of fights take around 15 seconds and usually one side doesn't get a turn at all.
To OVERsimplify: Imagine you had a single level 40 starter champ, decently geared. and half of your fights are against a naked level 1 version, and half of your fights are against a level 60 6*-blessed version with 8k attack 400 crit dam and 400 speed. Is the matchmaking working properly if roughly half your fights are against one, and half the other, and maybe once a week you go up against another level 40 with decent gear?
And sure, it's faster than every fight being a close contest. And that's a very good thing, especially for people who don't like doing it at all but would rather tolerate it for the rewards than missing out. Which I would wager is most of the people in there in the first place.
Have an anti-tournament, where for 3 days there are no rewards, it's not needed for quests, doesn't count for missions. See what that does to participation; if it goes down significantly, then you've got yourself a badly designed feature.
I note with some considerable cynicism the dev blog stated that IF live area season pass goes well, then they MIGHT put in unranked battles for fun.
Apologies to Wileyman for how far off the path this thread is getting.
