Trunda hits so hard it makes up for all ills. Fears can't stop you, cleanse can't stop you... It just reduces the damage some if you get tons and tons of fear spawns when it's red affinity.

But fears can't stop you if a single hit kills the fear head even on respawn.

In terms of Trunda stats, is there a soft cap on CDMG? pretty sure no, right - that's only for max-hp champs? So, aim for as much cmdg as possible, I assume? Something like 5-6K ATK and 300% CMDG or so?

So, I get that Plarium says that a key like this is operating within the expected parameters.  Even though I have a clan member who does damage like dthorne04 with Trunda, I think that Trunda is totally unabalanced for Hydra even at that level.  Nothing else compares to her.  That is the level when things SHOULD get re-balanced.

However, on two separate occassions, my clan has faced opponents in Hydra Clash where one player does 25B - 30B with one key.  Our highest Clash Score for the entire clan is about 25B.  This is a total failure on the part of Plarium to (1) Keep Potential Teams in Balance and (2) Establish Fair Matchmaking.

This week, an opponent put up this key on Hard for 30B, resulting in this clash being totally out of reach of our clan by at least 15B.

Well my first stab at this didn't produce numbers anywhere close to that. I tried first using your suggested team, but my Trunda is clearly not strong enough to actually do what she needs to do. So, I swapped a few pieces out and put her basically in my old team with her in place of Rathalos, and did okay, about 130M on hard, but nothing special.

Big problem is that my Savage gear is kinda crummy. 171 SPD, 6.3K ATK, 248 CDMG. If I switch to 4 pc Cruel, I can get 212 SPD, 6.4K ATK, 267 CDMG - still not really great though, surprisingly. Not sure what I'd need to do to push that CDMG above 300 ... almost every item has hit one of the three important stats (SPD/CDMG/CRATE).
