If you're a beginner, try repeatedly sending 12 bonnies; you'll get 4 tournament points if they survive and one if they die.
The tournament will give you very little... but you could easily get free rubies from the tournament ranking p.s. Because high-level players cannot see your treasure islands, they are unable to attack you.

Can if you will it to be or get Cpt Anne O'Mally to send troops daily to every non-active havens, then some people will have something to do.

The purpose of TIs is to get us to fight, lose units, and spend rubies. People do them for PvPs, either defensive or offensive. If you're in it for the rubies/gears/res, you are very likely to have a bad time.
