You start with a big army (compared to the max. payout size you can hope to get). You start doing battlegrounds. Basically all of them. If things are working correctly, you get payouts on your way, those go back into battlegroungs again. Since you have a "big army", you can afford to keep pushing for payout. If you have some sapphire, at some point you buy a fresh set of battlegrounds. The coiners will also just revive enough troops to keep fighting if they messed up.
The problem with battlegrounds banking amount being secret is that you can not control it. If you loose track once you are out of luck. So it is basically a savings plan where you can neither request to know your current balance nor your savings goal.
So you need to keep playing. And some recent reports suggest that the payout logic currently used (subject to change without notice) is unable to gurantee in all cases that your bank amount is payed out, ever again or while this game is still played.
I would therefore strongly suggest to not revive troops for battlegrounds, and see it as a thing to do with troops you don´t need right now.

That is likely good advice if you still have the option, yes.There are many techniques practiced but most have found after certain levels smaller levels are never seen again. If you are past that point you have two options, build huge armies or don't play the BGs.
Since this is the thread tech support wants to refer us too, and wont handle BG related support tickets....
I'd like to make it clear and make it known that the system is flawed. it may be working according to algorithm parameters, but those parameters are flawed.

Agreed. Once you messed up - or if you´ve been at the wrong point when the rules change came - those are your options. Battlegrounds every couple months or not at all.
This is a major design flaw in my opinion, but better to be warned ahead of time, yes? The top-level hero gear i did it for is nice, but ultimately you have to do SO MANY battlegrounds for upgrading that doing a few every now and then will not give you anything.

No reward so far.
Just 2000 wivern...but i tried a lvl 154 to get the big price....and i recived a carrot :))

Man ...i putted back in BG that reward + 3000 extra dragons + 1500 necro + 10000 patfinder + 2500 raven + all that i trained since then + the rewards from turnaments
Make the math again ...how can i get only 2000 wivern reward ?
How can i get on a lvl 154 ...500 wivern reward in this conditions ?
