You can certainly prove your point without insulting others. Doing so is just admitting defeat (though pushing others to this is just as bad).
Art is not only about brains anyway. It also about talent an creativity, and I'm far from having PrimeGuardian's talent... However, creativity can also express without creating from scratch... Though I admit it would be better.

as drawing personal we always make something new instead we will lose even if you're drawing is the best among all
that how competitions goes, the judge never value you're creative but rather admire those who editing using their company creation
my drawing never copy any of plarium creation instead there no1 will admire our creativity of making new drawing.
that how a company work, they only admire those who use their company image will get benefit instead this event already spoken not accepting any copyright thingy, but they accept those who use their company picture to be the winner.
you notice im at 3rd place with another guy, actually that only handicap reward for my drawing and it not even consider as competition picture from the beggining. that how thing goes, a handicap winner at 3rd place.
from my personal point of view, i rather leonidas didn't give me the 3rd place because my drawing not even consider a participation picture compare to the 3rd place winner that use plarium picture and some edit skill on it.
after this event, i will never participate any term of photo or picture event, i rather create my own drawing and post at the fan art forum where my personal drawing art located.
Friend, I really likes your work.. It is awesome... but for here, company have asked to create banner not drawings. but still they considered your arts cause they are worth.. and you have a place on top too... don't give up for these silly things...
also editing and drawing are different things. and both have its own difficulty. so don't compare these...
