Sir Dan Saul Knight, its nothing to do with being a brown noser as you say but everything to do with helping out players when they ask for help, being able to get bugs looked into promptly provided I can reproduce them sucessfully as well.
When we all started to play this game yes it was different but everyone who complained about something in the game was to controlled by the coiners like settlements for example, you have no idea how many complaints were put on the forum about settlements how 1 player was allowed to hold them for the whole duration they were in the game for their time with just 1 archer, and if you took that settlement away, their whole alliance would attack you so you all got hamlets because of this, a 1v1 style player format where 1 person cannot hold a hamlet continuously for the duration of its cycle before it refills again.
I have helped many players over the years to get ahead in this game with all of the changes, I adapt and learn fast, I also take in other players advice and try it out if I have never done that ingame before, its just a way to get things done faster
Take the stoneheart units for example, while most are rushing to try to get their gargoyles unlocked to build and their abilities upgraded I am still doing pergator upgrades, reason why is because the pergator defensive special abilities are the only thing that will counteract the gargoyle special offense abilities so my defense will be ready if the gargoyle players come for me, being a Mod is not a bad thing, I find it challenging but enjoyable
