This is not a matter of impacting code, this is a matter of rewards impacting power balance between players.

Then how would you suggest we fund the game's maintenance and further development? Sparta is a free to play game, you can pick it up and play without spending a penny. Without people who make in-game purchases, the game would not exist simply because it requires resources to be made and kept up to date. We tried making our devs work for food - it did not go very well 

FIne, but dont talk about tournament rewards creating inequity. They used to barely compensate what was lost, now not even close.

Maybe you are referring to the big rewards in those long tournaments, 100k drachmas or more. Who do you suppose always won those?

Which is the point. Balancing these rewards is a difficult affair - if the top tier rewards are not much more impressive than lower tier, then there is no point of shooting for them. If they are too high, it widens iniquity. This is why you can see our devs change rewards now and then as they try different balance options.

all I know is every time your devs tinker with something, like tournament rewards or persia, it gets worse  for the players.
