Subject: Feedback Regarding Severely Reduced Loot and Monetization Direction
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the recent direction of Raid: Shadow Legends, especially in relation to drastically reduced loot output across endgame content.
As a long-time player who has invested both time and real money into this game, I feel compelled to voice my concerns in the hope that they are taken seriously by your team.
I have spent real money on the game not out of impatience, but with the specific goal of building a strong enough account to consistently farm high-end content such as Ultra Nightmare Clan Boss, Nightmare Hydra, and top-level dungeons. My investment was meant to unlock that long-term sustainability – not to be locked back into scarcity.
Now, despite reaching endgame, the loot has been drastically nerfed:
Sacred Shards: I used to receive 2–3 per week through consistent gameplay. Now I get 2–3 per month.
Legendary Books: Same pattern – once a weekly occurrence, now they are nearly absent.
Market: Even rare or ancient shards almost never appear anymore.
Hydra and Clan Boss rewards feel meaningless compared to the effort required.
If I wanted to experience a loot drought, I would have stayed Free to Play. But I didn’t – I supported your game financially, and in return I expected a more fulfilling long-term experience. That trust feels broken now.
The only constant in recent months seems to be an endless stream of Fusion Events and Champion Chases – all designed to deplete resources rapidly, without giving players time to recover or enjoy what they’ve earned.
This direction comes across as greedy and exploitative. You’re not just encouraging spending – you’re forcing it. That’s not sustainable design. That’s paywalling disguised as progression.
If endgame content offers no meaningful loot, there’s no incentive to get stronger. And if there’s no incentive to grow, then there’s no point in continuing.
I have already paid for the right to enjoy this game on my terms. But you’ve taken that away. You’ve reduced rewards, tightened drop rates, and restructured events to constantly drain players while offering nothing in return.
Because of this, I am making the decision to stop spending any further money on Raid: Shadow Legends, and unless I see real improvement or community acknowledgment of these concerns, I will likely stop playing altogether.
I urge your development and business team to rethink this direction. Rewarding long-term, paying players should be a priority, not a casualty of monetization strategy.
Raid once felt like a game where you could grind, progress, and earn real value over time. Now it feels like a treadmill tilted backward.
Please consider this feedback seriously – not just for me, but for the many others in the community expressing the same concerns.
Sincerely,
Murffen
