I've been playing Stormfall for a few years and recently decided to try out Pirates. I've been trying to load Pirates for a couple of days now... nothing.. just a blank screen.

Stormfall loads just fine.. but Pirates.. no go!!

Any ideas??

App or a browser? If app, glitches like that seem to happen a lot. I've never heard of it happening in browsers.

As a fellow Linux user I'm surprised you don't recognise "Tux the Penguin" 😁

I use browser .. although I have the Play App installed under WINE it's... glitchy (though I believe I may have a clue to fixing it t.b.c.)

It is strange though... Stormfall loads perfectly.. Pirates is just a blank frame... headers are there (and the cascading banner urging us to switch to the play app) ... but underneath - the main frame where the game normally loads... just blank

I don't look at avatars, to be honest. 😁 Did you see my tutorial on keeping two versions of Chrome on Linux, running at the same time? It's here. I' ve been playing like that since I published it.

I've never seen the above problem with the browser. Might wanna check Dev Tools' console for errors. Otherwise, I'd try a different browser. Possibly Puffin's Flash Store (somewhat laggy, but a decent option for emergencies).

I did have a look at your tutorial... nice 😀 Unfortunately Chrome is not an option for me - mainly, but not exclusively, because I'm on 32-bit and Chromium binaries are unreliable. So I'm using firefox - it's a doozy alright this issue... dev tools console show nothing out of the ordinary...

Oh well... something to investigate.. clearly this is not a widespread issue.. but an issue at my end.. I'll work on it

Update: Fixed the problem... apparently "Enhanced Tracking Protection"  - standard in Firefox 83 - causes the main game frame to be blocked. Turning it off allows the site to load properly...

Strange that this is NOT a problem for Stormfall - just Pirates .. hmm

@Tids, my tutorial works for any browser, because the only thing it solves is how to run two versions of the same browser at the same time. All you need is a binary of Firefox to be placed in some user's directory.

@Sea Moon Boone, did you report a bug here? I'll ping Plarium about it, as others reported a similar issue, but they do need detailed data from as many people as possible, to be able to track down the issue.

Il gioco non funziona bene da 2 giorni. Non si riescono a fermare i galeoni ed ogni volta si blocca il gioco ed occorre rilanciarlo e così si perdono minuti preziosi. Inoltre spesso non si vedono le icone, soprattutto quelle del mercato e delle razzie eseguite e  anche qui bisogna chiudere e dare di nuovo LANCIA. Non riesco a giocare in questo modo. The key issue is: Exception code: 0xc0000006

I won't bore you with all the possibilities or technical details - essentially your windows system is having issues at start-up (boot) i.e. corrupted boot configuration - you won't necessarily notice it though!!

Easiest way to fix it is to do a 'system restore'

1. Start your computer and log on as an administrator.

2. Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.

3. Select a system restore point from the “On this list, click a restore point” list  - use the restore point from just before the problems began - and then click Next.

4. Click Next on the confirmation window.

5. Restart the computer when the restoration is finished.

If that doesn't help, you'll need to provide more details about what is happening to you. "unable to re-load" simply won't be enough for anyone to know what the problem is.

Throne uses WebGL so will (should) load/run in any modern browser... Pirates still uses flash so you need to use the Play App which does not work on Chromebooks (or any Linux)

Scott, I've passed it on, but I don't expect a response before Monday. 😔

Sounds to me like the players have to progran the game to make it work. Will check back in a few months to see if the programers made it so players can play

I opened a support ticket #2852770 on March 24, 2020 about the failure of your flash_wrapper.exe which caused Pirates to fail to launch the game window.  How do I reach the Support Team with follow up information?  This is what my Windows Event Viewer showed in the Applications log...
