No, he isn't that superior. Personally I prefer Athel over him even.
In my opinion, Weaken + Extra Turns + Self Buffs is better than poisons that don't scale since half of them are little. Too many good poisoners out there these days, Kael being the ultimate goat is from 2019. :)
Ya, probably should have put that one as "choosing Galek as my starter champion". He's not "bad" but in my opinion not as good as Kael / Athel for a new account.
For me Kael made a good 1st 6*- lvl 60 campaign farmer until I got better champions. I used him through Brutal CB as well since I was lucky enough to get Frozen Banshee and Urogrim fairly early for a decent poison team.

I didnt realize it takes patience to play this game. That mistake is still ongoing.
I really felt that. I still want to rush my next 6* champion, until I realize that I would need lik 3 or 4 times the resources I have at the moment. Still, making all over again at the next champion
Ah, and for another answer: being impatient, and using a not-so-great champion for a role that I think I desperataly need(poisoner, couldn't pull a good one) and wasting resources for it unnecessarely
