This topic is about tournaments but the thread has become about hangar showdown :-). Blocking is not a solution for unskilled teammates. You'd be ostracizing new players without giving them a path to improvement. The best solution is to make it possible to coordinate in-game. In-game chat would be ideal, but (failing that) better conversation emojis would do.
Better conversation emojis (for lack of a better term) could be things like "fall back", "join me", "flank". This has been discussed in another thread about hangar showdown, and is probably the simplest thing for Plarium to do since it doesn't mess with anything core in the game.
It might also help to have an in-game hangar showdown tutorial, similar to the start-of-game tutorial but focused on HS objectives and strategies since it is very different from other modes.
dont think that chat would help to talk to inactive player :)
A siren option so teammate falls of his chair would be better.. if he plays with sound.
Ideally, i proposed before, the waiting screen would have snake/tetris/puzzles other games so you dont try to look for other things to do while you waiting..
the communication in game is also often annoying me for people overdoing it, few times i had an ally who was doing too much of it and first time i didnt see enemy coming right to me coz he was putting red target on him and while i was wondering what the hell is that thinkjng its a target from guided or seeker i was dead in next few seconds. Then they both were in my shooting line of sight but my ally was standing under the enemy and spaming shild chat, so it was exactly covering my enemy so i didnt see where to shoot. I missed and we lost both times, players sometimes need to play more than showing thumbs up for heals and die next second because that distracted them from play. 1-2 chats may be ok, but people do 10-20 and its distracting me and themselves too. I dont remember a single match where communication would help us with some grand plan and outcome.

I never find such spammy teammates (probably I'm quite lucky), but once in a CPC match a week ago, I got stuck with this chat feature (I opened it to inform an ally to help me cuz a seeker was about to teleport to me) I could neither fire nor turn off that chat thing, then I had to respawn as Aegis and the chat became normal.
It's quite frustrating for anybody if some player is spamming with useless messages. And the sad thing happening with me is, I never get cooperative teammates, because they might think I'm quite foolish to rush for beacons because all of them start to camp with Geminis, Tetras, Hornets, etc... It's nigh-impossible to capture the centre if I'm not ready to sacrifice my Nomad, and my teammates never bother to defend me while I'm capturing.
Yeah actually papa is right, so many times players soak saying attack then I look at them to see what they're doing and get hit by opponents 😅 0lus when I say cover me to players running forward they don't listen, so yeah a better worded chat might not even work
And yeah thundertechno, I think that chat box needs to be moved, so many times while I'm firing I accidentally pressed it and it stops my firing and takes a second to close it an boom I'm dead 😅 I'm thinking of getting a gaming laptop so I won't have that problem anymore, it's so much harder in matches for mobile players and I been playing on mobile for 4 years now, but back then when I started there wasn't many pc players, now it's just full of them and they have a better advantage, mech arena is set up for PlayStation and xbox controllers for pc players too so no need to use keyboards and can just use a controller on your laptop or pc, so I'm definitely considering it

There are two different conversations - inactive players and inexperienced ones (the latter being those that rush to their deaths). AFAICT the "blocking" conversation was for the latter.
As far as inactive players go, I've been shut out of a game multiple times because of "connection" issues. The game's network handling is substandard, so you can never be sure if a player is inactive willingly or not.
It'll be nice to find you guys in the game so we can play together (SPOILER: I'm just about 4.2k-4.6k SP, which might be lower than most of the players with whom I've been chatting here)
well i agree that team games would be much better especially if players are compatible with each other.. some teammates in hangar showdown are just perfect for my playstyle, while others may be great at the game but completely don't feel my play.. it's normal of course.. some prefer to rush, some to hide and both can have great sense of how to do it and win.. but at times if great hider meets great rusher things dont go well :)
Im often annoyed to see some nomad-type player at first control point and im thinking cool we gona rush middle to be first, and i die there alone, miliseconds before capture :) where the hell that guy disappeared I have no idea :)
Regarding to playing together idea sounds good, im only 5k hagar and I usually play with 3.5k and that is acually the issue, I probably could use my other 2 hangars now for team games as im not going to play tournament anymore, but those 2 are good for sniper/beam missions.. i assume i could leave one for that and use another for team matches.. my 3.5 hangar is for bot achievements, i would use anything that is close to acoins reward and currently it's super bad in control points clash because all robots are slow, i have ares, onyx, blockhorn, brickhouse and solis (which supposed to be fast with his blinding ability but in reality even with legendary duration its slower to reach anywhere even than wortex with ability activated, they proper made solis near useless while i dont think anything changed with deathwalker which they supposingly also nerfed). So in short i really suffer when I play this hangar, enemies will have some cool mechs and weapons and I will be thinking "bastards put their best weapons and must be feeling cool now, while im doing stupid tasks with stupid mechs and weapons", but this is my was to earn acoins.. its a bit not cool.. they could not make all tasks be something like "kill with barrage weapons" or "damage with beam weapons", for some reason they had to do specific ones.. like miniguns, nade launchers idk.. these 2 are not bad, it's just what i could remember instantly..
Also i recently encountered a team/clan because matchmaking for teams is pure out of order.. there were 3 guys with 2.5k hangars matched against 3.5+ hangars and outcome was dreadful for them.
But realistically we seems to be an active community, we get here together every day and spend hours chatting something that nobody really cares about, why not to meet and play instead.. haha
Well tar suggests to become teacher for new players who rush, I dont think there is a point.. the game is too fast paced to teach anyone realtime.. the new players should just not be there in that bracket.. and what is classed as "new" is also a question.. but maybe when person joins HS it should first win certain amount of games to go up the league.. idk.. it's too difficult to say and i'm not game developer to think about it and nobody really cares what we say here to go into details of how this could work in real games. Most of the time players with rare and common mechs would mean round lost, I do see some cool guardians with 16 savants who kick ass, but it's rather exceptions.. So ideally there would be some sort of limit of how many rare/uncommon mechs you can have in league 1/2 total in your hangar.. and if it's more than 2 then it's no good.. my volti will likely kill such mechs with 1 ability shot.. developers could also rump their health by 100k.. if anything.. that would give them chances.
I agree that game connection is not great and many even play over VPN to make things worse, i would never blame a player for lost connection, but it's also not my fault that I received such player in my team, so i would rather blacklist it from happening again as in UK i have no issues with human players, i usually get 4 players in HS in just 30 seconds and every day new ones so blocking a few hundreads wouldnt hurt :D I also at times get distracted by my family but i rarely leave a game for that reason.
The voice "Get back" or "i charge" or "heal me" in mortal combat style could be nice with some sort of 10 sec cooldown.. thats really it..
Terminator, you are a true hero for still playing on tablet, it restricts a lot comparing to PC.. I played on phone/tablet until I reached 1st division, i thought PC was not fair, but then i realized there is a lot of players on PCs and it's hard to go back to phone screen when you cant see where you snipe, but sometimes I still play on phone, but never a HS or a tournament. And my first post on forum was probably about chat options at bottom right corner that you can not change layout to anywhere for some reason and you always click them by accident and you can not shoot or move until you close them, the idiotic stupid design and of course nobody fixed it YET. I wonder who was that genious who decided that they need to be put under shooting target and be unmovable.. whatever..

No.. that's not what I said at all :-). I said if you build a culture of blocking players that make mistakes it is not a good culture. They need the opportunity to learn (by themselves usually), but that doesn't mean you have to teach them.
Some of the best MORPG games in the past died unnatural deaths because of this kind of behavior towards new players, which reduced the influx of new players which eventually killed the games. It's not the same situation here (this is not an RPG and HS is just one small part of the game) but it's close.
i would only block afk people not newbies, but you are right that others would not limit themselves to blocking just idle players..
and again im not sure that newbies should be there at all, i had to put one pink mech to get to second league myself which already assumes i have some experience.. but i meet people who seems to be newbies somehow :) could be pay 2 win or just new to HS, hangar showdown puts quite a strong accent on mechs abilities comparing to normal games for fun..
