I doubt many people here know much about anime, so if you want to try it and are lost on where to start, check out Sword Art Online.  It has a pretty good story and is probably the most SFW anime you'll find, plus there are free english dubbed versions.

bio,  I have seen SAO season 1 and watching season 2 plus reading the light novel, Reki Kawahara is a pretty good author paired up with an amazing artist abec and his other light novel, manga, and anime Accel World is pretty good as well.  I was hoping to talk to some cool people who like anime and manga in this thread.

I didn't really like accel world, never could empathize with the main character, so I stopped watching it after the first few episodes.  They are coming out with a new season though, called Gun Gale Online, looks like it should be interesting :)

gun gale online is the second season of SAO which includes the phantom bullet (episodes 1-14.5), caliber (episodes 15-17) and mothers Rosario (episodes 18-24)  arcs of the light novel of SAO which were volumes 5-7 plus side story volume and it pretty good mostly from the animation detail and the frame rate is way beyond what the first season had plus it adds a lot of character development for Asuna that the first season left out from the light novel. yes I can see why most people don't like Accel world but the main reason why I like Accel world is mostly because there's a theory that the main female character Kuroyukihime is Asuna's and kirito's daughter and Kuroyukihime is one of my favorite female characters.

starhawk, I have seen the first season and planning on reading the manga of attack on titan cant wait till 2016 for season 2(http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-11-21/attack-on-titan-tv-anime-gets-2nd-season-in-2016/.81305). in my opinion its over-hyped and shadowing all of the lesser known hidden gems of anime but it is still good and has one of the best openers for an anime I have seen.

Has anyone seen Edge of Tomorrow? If you have then you should read All You Need Is Kill which is the manga it was taken from.

the manga All You Need Is Kill was amazing Takeshi Obata's art is some of the best art I have seen. I suggest the manga Bakuman and Death Note since Takeshi Obata also did the art for them and have amazing storys.

My virtual *** recently imploded.

I personally watched just 2 animation 1. SAO and 2. baka to test to shoukanjuu. both were good but I enjoyed 2 very much, I'd like to watch something like that if anyone knows can suggest me!!

pretty surprising that no one suggested any jump anime. naruto been  top followed by one piece and bleach and probably toriko and diffidently fairy tails

i have watched a few episodes of garo when it was airing and been meaning to finish it and i have Atelier Escha & Logy on my massive plan to watch list

if you look at my big suggestion list i had death note, Rosario to Vampire, One Outs, and One Piece which are all either in Shounen jump or another magazine serialization apart of jump magazine. fairy tail is not in Shounen jump its in Shounen magazine and there is no "jump anime" since jump is not an anime studio its a manga serialization magazine. the anime of naruto and bleach are mostly filler and not worth the time unless you skip about 75% of the episodes but they are great manga. naruto has never been top sure its up there but its not top. one piece has always been ahead of naruto or a big brother to naruto as a manga and even the author of naruto Kishimoto said it himself (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-11-10/naruto-creator-kishimoto-talks-end-of-the-series-international-fans/.80876). plus naruto ended and one piece is still ongoing therefore one piece still has tons of room to get even better then it already is. also no mention of gintama, hikaru no go or any other big name jump manga?
