Closing and Locking Topics

Is there a reason a lot of topics are being closed or locked when the topic is something that should be addressed, or a topic that while some may view as not needing any more input, may be seen as others as needing more input.

My question is more for the first part of my statement though. I see lots of topics closed for reasons that while are claimed to be for other reason, more or less say "We don't like criticism, so we are closing this topic or deleting your posts"..

If you don't want honest feedback.. why have a forum? The community is already almost at the point to where they barely share any suggestions as they feel there is no point as it seems our feedback is shut down very quickly.

Plarium has a lot of trust to earn back from its community.. and silencing its community isn't the right step to take to earn that trust back.. Just a thought though.. as I'm only a player in the game since day one and I have no idea how the community feels...

Dear Lord Skycooldude,

The topic that was recently closed related to the bot called 'Master' was related to rule 3.11, according to Brunsthomas.
And I must say that I'm agreeing with Brunsthomas.
On the other hand, I'd like to agree with you that things should be a bit more balanced regarding the relationship between the community and Plarium.

But I don't know an answer on how that should happen.

Have a good day or night m'lord!

Even though not one bit of 3.11 had to do with the topic in any way i am not surprised you agree, Yay go mods on killing the last of the game.

I think i better stay out of the forums for a while or i might say what i really think.

Sky i need a favour, can check your pm please.

constructive criticism has turned to blatant dissatisfaction, the problem is we always get the same scripted answers and most of the time the information they respond with is incorrect

sad to say but I always expect the same type of responses to issues or suggestions

game issues that apply to all players should not have to be reported to the support desk by the players they should be taken directly from this forum to the developers to fix - why do we have to go one step forward and two steps back and still never have issues addressed?

Can you explain what part of it was related to that Paragraph because I can't see it. I mailed Oberon and put forward a complaint, because fair enough if posts get closed and such if they breach rules, but if raising question, even what seems like YET AGAIN regarding a re-occuring problem in the game is now a "lockable" offense. Why should we even bother post about any griveance or anything anymore at all?

Because mailing support and a file a ticket does not give us any sense of accomplishment, in particular not when we don't see anything happen, and 2 days later iteration number 167 of MASTER rise to spam again.

I proposed that we review and edit the rules, but that topic was closed, and deleted, because it contained an image that one demonstrator didn't want to be seen.

he could have deleted the image, but no he delete the whole thing, and lock it up. you complain you complain you get banned. The forum is turning into Us( moderators and Community manager) Vs THEM (posters and forum readers), again.

Edit the rules so that they can be understood. the is no use of having rules that can be bent to 1000 interpretation.

Allow forum members to discuss moderator and community actions.

Moderators should not have the ability to delete and lock topics, only to edit and cut sentences in the topic.

Educate moderators, make them understand the rules.

This was your post:

Seeing how "Master" bounce back again and again and flood my mail box with good offers at low prices. And Plariums feeble atempts or lack of to deal with Master and his bot empire. Maybe would try some price competition and price him out of the business?
Maybe brunsthomas took it the wrong way, as I do not see much issues with it in my honest opinion. The only thing that caught my eye was the 'feeble attempts' which is most likely the reason it was being locked as it may seem more like useless complaints instead of constructive complaints/feedback to some.

Either way, I'll ask brunsthomas himself, as I will have to confirm this before I make assumptions.

I am sorry to see that you're not satisfied with our service.
May I ask you what exactly we should do to improve?

I will see what I can do for this topic to return. I'll inform you through PM's with the result and eventual constructive feedback.

I am truly sorry you feel that way.

If there's anything I can do for you, please tell me through PM's.
I will also inform the Community Manager about this and see what she thinks about this.

That's definitely true! I will inform the Community Manager about this issue.

Thank you for this report.

I was actually planning to make a Feedback on Moderator topic. I will post a link here once it's created.

Oracle said:

I don't think that'd be a good idea.
Because that means that they have to inform the Community Managers constantly to delete a or multiple post(s). If a spam-bot appears, and the CM's will have to delete 200 topics, then they've lost a lot of worthy time.

Oracle said:

I kind of like this idea, but on the other hand, not everybody is able to be taught 'how to moderate'. As I have college, and other real life and digital things to take care of, it's hard to have that one on my shoulders as well.

Hope you understand!

The only thing I want is that if there is forum rules in action, then those applies to users, moderators and powers to be alike. If a moderator is of a certain opinion he/she doesn't like something or someone, then those opinions doesn't matter at all because their are their private ones, rules should be the absolute norm to govern by. Not if you disagree with what someone post. The rules need to be clear enough for everyone to understand though.

The forum is over moderated by people that have little to no previous forum moderation experience.

There is at least 1 moderator who abuses his power to pursue his own agenda with relation to the server he is on.

That is not to say all the moderators are not good. And we must all remember they pretty much do the job for free "they get approx 5k sapphires a week for their effort".

I have said before and will say again that the main problem is that Plarium choose moderators at random (sometimes appointing people have haven't even partipcated in the forums to any extent). As long as you apply at the right time when they are looking to add mods and don't make any stupid responses to the test/questions you get appointed and then suddenly have powers over all other players.

If Plarium spend any time and effort they would encourage the highly active and respected members of the forum to be moderators. But like everything connected to this game, Plarium make no effort to run things effectively.

then please detail it in the new thread or here does not matter

send a PM at least just try

we are asking you to

also moderation is voluntary all those experienced players had to do is send a message to oberon

about thomas topic

yes it does not violate that rule however its not constructive as much as its sarcastic

yes i do believe that the effort to remove master is really low and not enough

and i think plarium is wrong not doing much more

but the suggestion given is a price competition which is obviously sarcastic / not realistic at best

so i would at least close it

When all else fails you got to try bring attention some how. File a support ticket clearly doesn't. And a promise of "we are working on something, or looking into something" doesn't mean anything after so long time tbh. Put something concrete behind the words and show us.

Lords and Ladies, there are some certain rules that were created so that Forum would be a convinient platform for communication.

You can always find these rules here .

Some topics can be closed, because the answer on the question has been given and there is no need to continue conversation, some topics can be closed and deleted because of Rules violations and some topics can be closed because they are not of current interest anymore (you can find them in Archive).

So please, let's be noble and follow the rules, they're made for everyone's convenience. Otherwise, there will be a chaos on the Forum.

Rather than have re-occuring posts happen all the time over the same subjects, its better to have "threadnoughts" that will eventually die out by themselfs. If players keep post about the same topics over and over, who is then right to say the topic is of no interest anylonger?

Rules is always nice as long as everyone follow them. (even moderators and admins)

Also to be a bit crude, if Plarium could get their shit together and deal with certain things such as Master and his army of bots. There wouldn't be much posts about it either wouldnt it?

I agree with you at some point. It's true that some topics moved down beause the subject had become out of interest.

And there are some game related topics, which make interest for a long time and are always on the top. Players share tips, give advices and such tpics are useful to come back to from time to time.

However, when it comes to discussion the alt accounts or bots, there is the only way to report them, it's our Support team. Both Moderators and I have posted that we can't held such reports here, on the Forum. That's why we ask you to contact our Support team and report such accounts there. And since the only answer we can give is to advice you to contact Support team, there is no point to  expand the discussion about such accounts further.

The problem with bots and spam is something the players suffers from, but Plarium does little with. It doesn't matter how many times pictures, co-ords and so forth get posted on the forums, reported to support, if nothing happens, and no actions get taken.

This is like a combination of catch 22 and chase your tail. People post on forums, get told file a ticket with support to report it, nothing happens, people post on the forums, rinse and repeat. I know a lot of these "bots" is considered raid content from Plariums side, but tbh, it would be much more beneficial in the long run to just deal with them and NUKE them, or be even more cruel, transfer all the bots and masters over to a own tiny server.

As long as issues and problems keep exist, people will post about them. They don't become any less interesting because the subject been posted over countless times, it does however reflect back on Plariums failure to deal with this particular issue though. If Plarium can show us they serious about this, and start smash a sledgehammer to their caste walls then players will see reporting bots and such helps and put more effort into that as well. After this long time, frankly the ball is in Plariums corner.

Actually there is are many ways to deal with bots - ticket to support is just one approach.

If you were right then all other games companies are doing the wrong thing in their approach to tackling bots right!!!!!! Cause I can tell you that professional companies unlike yourselves don't expect the players to report them one by one.

There are a load more effective ways this could be done - which is ironically what most of the posts in the forum about bots are saying. So you just lock and delete new suggestions.

Support tickets are fiddly and time consuming for your customers. Not to mention you have now hidden the support function so the vast majority of players couldn't even find it.

Why not have a permanent thread where players can quickly and easily report bots, in a fact and convenient manner?

All you have to do is collect the castle locations from the thread every few days and pass them to support. Or is a tiny bit of your effort to save a huge amount of our time too much to ask?

If it really is too much for you to bother - why not start a fast track reporting page, without all the hassle of the normal support part (select server, add city co-ords). Hell you could even add the function in game as one of the options that pops up in the wheel of options when you click on a city.

Why do I have to come up with these suggestions. What the hell do you guys do? You guys get paid to do a job right? Start looking like you care even just a little and get on with doing some useful stuff.

The total lack of effort from Plarium is disgusting. All you are interested is collecting money, little else.

Mar 14, 2017, 21:5703/14/17

Plarium can data mine the crap out of their games. If other games out there can have effective tools to discover bots and such, shouldnt be to hard for Plarium either. Its down to the effort and somewhat cost of make it happen.
