City is just one of the several places where battle can happen. Battles in emporia and pantheon are the alternatives and sometimes those can be more interesting. Recently playing traps in smaller cities have become a new trend. I like others attacking my city knowing I'll get back at least 40% (50% of Elysian and 30% of regular troops - and i use similar amount of both) of my dead troops for free. I respect others' opinions too as its up to the individual player to formulate his/ her own strategy.

Everyone likes to have their city attacked, but let's face it, cities are attacked compared years ago ,to less than 1% , other scenes?pantheons? It is uneven, since the attack guards are unfair and eliminated the coa attacks, there are hardly any attacks on pantheons or tournaments that motivate it.
Attacks on emporias ? It is ridiculous, most of them send very few units over and over again, so the war is very minimal.
The current problem is the amount of alts and little activity in the game and that is caused by the changes that plarium has made in the game during the last years.

I assume that you and I have different playing style, priorities, friends and enemies but I agree with you on the matter of the amount of alts.
The problem of alts is because the game is boring and more and more tasks, players leave the game and give away their account, and in recent years no new player has entered the game, plarium wanted this, plarium wants a number very small of players and that spending money, as it is not able for plarium to get the game to run smoothly when there are many players.Cheap servers, bad programming ...
Political attack has become meaningless lately. Almost everyone upgrades assassin protection on a priority basis now. Those who have troops defending, most likely they have full assassin protection. Even younger players and new comers too give priority on it after they are in a coalition and start learning from teammates.
Defending has always been easier than attacking throughout the history. Anything otherwise would be abnormal in Sparta. Most (seemingly) top players have gone defensive in Sparta. It's all about individual strategy but there are still a lots of players who are of attacking mindset. Due to the guardian and elysian bonuses, battle is more balanced now than ever before. Speaking from my experience as I have been playing since 2014, I think that except Persian Position, every other gameplay has improved.
I agree :)
Its about time that Plarium reintroduced the importance of Pans and Capitols into the game. Pans are of no real value at all and as for capitols. Well if yours has been reduced who the heck rebulds? The world is now littered with level 5 capitols that are undefended and never attacked. Plarium could easily have introduced a method of ensuring that only one Coa was able to declare war on another coa, and consequently been in a position to attack a capitals at a given time. The problem with Pans is that veteran status is so totally worthless. About time that Plarium made veteran status as important as having a guardian in tow.
