If I didn't alrealdy have him I would go for him. Even with that nerf he can still remove every fear and put out some damage. Totally worth it.

I'm with you.  If I had the 25 shards I'd go for a dup to have him on two teams, but I only have 14 saved up.

Confused by OP?  The post would make more sense if they did the event prior to the change in deterrent mastery no?  

I expect the complaints to be more along the lines as it is for whales only, and discrimanatory against ftp :)

You are upset they are making him available?

Would it be better to have no events for him? Seems to me to be a good way to grab him for the people who have been saving voids.

Shamael is still a fantastic champ, and is by far the best Hydra debuffer if the head of Torment is active.

No-one is making you pull the voids? you can just pretend the event is not happening?

I did not agree with them changing a whole mastery in reaction to hydra, but i would be more annoyed if i had pulled 25 shards THEN had his functionality nerfed?

I am also here to reconcur with my previous statement and other concurrences.

he's still an mvp of hydra, just not quite as broken as he was for the first 2 rounds.

still good in certain arena situations and on certain doom tower floors too.

I had him before from a 2x event. I wasn't really using him except switching him in and out of teams for doom tower and arena tag.

want to say i made the drunk decision to feed him to my Lysandra but wasn't the case.

Let me word it in this manner.

Is Shamael stil a good champion? Yes, he is.

Should Plarium have known and taken into account the Deterence mastery before releasing Hydra? Yes

Is Shamael stil helpful in Hydra: Definitely

Is changing the mastery which has been in game for years instead of changing the Hydra before release a good method: No (Change the Head of Torment Fear ability to once per round -> problem solved)

Why does this event upset me? Because I am 100% sure that the Head of Torment will be rotated out of the next Hydra starting heads and therefor the event at THIS point of time is a pure money grabbing tactic.

Did Plarium spend months planning out Hydra and it's interaction with one champ in order to grab all monies based on just this champ? No.

Did Plarium make Shamael available b/c all players demanded/whined/complained that it was unfair to play Hydra w/o Shamael?  Yes.  

Will they make money from whales in the proces? Yes.

Would they have made money from whales anyway? Yes.

Will people complain no matter what Plarium does? Yes.

The fact that they changed up Shamael with the release of Hydra tells me that plarium knew he was broken going against Hydra, they just weren't sure HOW broken yet, so I DO think they planned on him being a focus for Hydra and they still are.

They didn't change Shamael he's still pretty broken, don't tell them I said that! 

They changed a mastery that was putting him into an endless loop of counterattacks for some people. 

I experienced it once and I loved it, but I do think it was pretty cheesy. 

That being said, I do wish something else had been changed instead.
