Open sacred shards for double event or wait for fusion?

I only have 3 sacred shards, originally intended to be my Christmas champions - I'd thought I'd be opening them on Dec 23rd because I mixed up the summoning timetable.

So, now it's the double chance weekend it occurs that I should open them. While it would be nice to get a lengedary, I'm only very early game so a few epics could probably help with my progress.

However, I'm already focused on building resources for a Christmas fusion, so I may not feel able to develop anything I get. Additionally, there's likely to be one or more summoning events for the fusion where having a few sacred shards ready could be really handy for getting points.

Yet I'm generally only able to farm dungeons around level 6-8 so any new epic that helps me farm higher stages could also help with improving scores for the fusion event. Then again, chances are I may struggle to do the fusion event anyway, so is it really worth focusing so much on that at the potential detriment of current progression?

Decisions, decisions!

So, to summon now or to save? :)

24 ancients, 3 void, 3 ancient. Another void and sacred coming in 9 days from completing monthly quests. I can still budget to buy a shard pack if required as part of my Christmas present to myself.

Honestly if you're farming dungeons 6-8 only, you could really use some quality Epics and a shot at a legendary. You're gonna have a really really hard time finishing a classic fusion at this stage in your progress.

I personally would go ahead and pull those three.

If you're not planning on spending money, my expectation is you won't be able to get the Christmas fusion. You're just too early.

What's your account look like? How many "quality" epic/lego champs do you have?

I would wait until the next fusion after December, tbh.

A great way to slow down your progress is starting a fusion and end up with 95 fragments. All resources gone, no price won.

There will be (probably) a champion chase tournament and a summon rush. With your overall number of shards, you will have problems to do it. Better start stockpiling resources for a later fusion.

You will need:

  • gems for energy packs (to get the points in dungeon divers)
  • chickens or pre-levelled food-champs to upgrade in champion training tournaments
  • XP-brew for champion training tournaments
  • silver for artifact enhancement
  • shards
  • maybe some prepared fusions (Relickeeper) or obtainable champs for champion chase tournament

To be honest, that's my feeling as well. I've been researching more about previous fusions and feeling that it's increasingly unlikely I'd be able to succeed - and that it would be better to look forwat to getting a new epic or two from the event instead.

agree with above. with your current resources and account progression, you'll have a very difficult time completing this fusion. that said, it will be a traditional fusion, so you should be able to complete enough events to fuse a copy of the epic champion.

This is a great point @Fathertron. You should be able to target at least one Epic that will be a component of the Fusion, and fuse that champ.

The Epic plus whatever you get from these three shards will likely be a boon for your account.

All this said - if you *are* a spender, I think this guy definitely *is* worth spending on, for you especially. He looks like he'll end up being an absolute beast in CB, provided you can find a way to tune around his extra turn.

I have been down the buying packs to pull champions. I almost feel in my opinion that when I was doing that it impeded my progress really. You have to gear your champions for what you are doing. I ended up with alot of 50 level champions and struggled to get a few to 60 level and really struggled with gear for all of them. I would save my shards for a guaranteed champion. Whomever you actually want and that could help your team and have the resources ready to upgrade them. This means alot of hoarding and alot of farming for gear and chickens. Too many good champions too quick can hurt your progress as much as no good champions in my opinion. But we all know about opinions.

I mean, you created that problem for yourself. You don't need to do any of what you did. Just because you get some shiny new champion, doesn't mean you need to level them to 50, let alone to 60, nor does it mean you need to gear them.

This game is going to present you with opportunities to hang yourself at every turn.

kramaswamy.kr  I get that. Did I say anyone made me do that? No! Just trying to help someone out to avoid it themselves. Answers like this may be why people talk about the mods on here. No one said anyone made me do anything. Just trying to be helpful.

Yes this is exactly what I'm thinking of. :)

@kramaswamy.kr I believe cpe was just sharing that as a cautionary tale against his experiences in the game, rather than just complaining about it.

@cpetree While I understand why you might be frustrated here, I am not certain what moderators have to do with it.

Moderators are terrible. I say we talk about them more... constantly even, especially out of nowhere when someone else upsets us.

So for second half of the game, Harima would be essential and worth pulling some sacreds?
