Ah insider knowledge. :)
Any idea when details of the fusion will be announced?
It's a fusion event, not a fragment event. I can tell you that solely based on the announcement.
Traditional Fusions require you to collect 16 new rare champs from a variety of tourneys and events and then fuse them into 4 of a new epic champ, and then fuse those 4 epics into a legendary. A good example of the process and what kind of events that would entail are here: https://hellhades.com/fusion-guide-helicath/
As far as specific details like the order of events and such, we'll post that here when Plarium lets us know. Usually that is the day of the fusion, sometimes as it is starting.
Jumping back in here to reiterate how good this guy is gonna be in Bommal, who is still a very difficult piece of content for many.
This guy doubles his bomb damage against bosses, and Bommal takes 300% bomb damage already.
I can also picture very interesting double explosion comps. Explode the bombs, then you get double the poisons and then explode them.
I'm not sure this is true. Won't the poisons he places cause Bommal to place irresistible, unremovable bomb debuffs back on him? So he's doing good damage, but you'll need a lot of revive (on death or otherwise) to make it work.
I will believe this when someone has done the deed on the test server.

The skill description of Bommal's passive says so. But indeed it's possible to resist the bombs he places in return for debuffs, at least in DT normal. I just tested it, Ghostborn used his A3 to place decrease def on Bommal. No bomb debuff on Ghostborn.
Interesting, thanks. I didn't know that. But for instance stage 50h requires 550 res, that takes a lot away from the attack stat. I'm willing to believe there's a team that can juggle all these problems somehow, but it definitely won't be easy to build.
I think a reviver is enough to solve the problem. The bombs placed in return for debuffs are only the "normal" debuff bombs, not dread bombs. So the fusion champ is the only one who will die, and the bombs he gets have a 2 turn cooldown.
Fusion warm-up event began today at 11:30, lasting for 4 days. :)
I don't know why, but even though I'm unlikely to be able to get Gnishak, I'm still excited about this event - new monsters, plus I'll be able to upgrade some of my key champions, and it's Christmas. :)
Christmas is a great reason to get excited. I am 75 and I am still like a kid at Christmas. ho ho ho
Looks decent to be fair, but I don't really enjoy traditional fusions, so probably will
LOL Traditional fusion was when you needed 16 different rares and the only way to get them was to have them in your collection (no vaults at all) or pull them from shards. Had to keep one of every rare in those days. Couldn't collect them from events/tourny.

I was trained to keep one of every rare just in case they return to that format.
How many potions are usually needed for a fusion? How many shard points?
Any guesses when the new fusion might begin?
For potion amounts I found this:

Which suggests 40 lesser, 36 greater, 6 superior, of each affinity required - presuming each epic to fuse is of a different affinity!

odds are they won't be. that was the format of traditional fusions a long time ago but recent ones have involved four copies of a single epic, each fused from four copies of the same rare. they do at least make sure the rare and epic are different affinities, but you still end up needing a huge amount of two types of potions and zero of the other two (arcane potions are of course unaffected).
