I hope for their sake, that it was a clan quest, and not an advanced quest :/

Unless Clan Quests can show up out of nowhere a few days after reset, I'm afraid it's an advanced quest.

I believe it unlocks at level 38.

First one should be free with the gifted oils.  After that, what's the incentive to do this other than the advanced?  Very disappointed in the carrot.

Yeah, that's gonna blow up in their face. 1* ascension is 60 lesser oils. If you're mid-game, you're looking at at least 70-75 energy. 

It reminds me of the use 1 Hydra Key quest.  There was a lot of push back. In the end it encouraged me to bank Mithrala frags (still sitting there). And now we are getting soulstones.  But this does seem like a hard pill to swallow.

Hydra at least required keys, this is energy that some people will prefer not to waste. I've tried ascending about 12 pieces by now, only 2 gave me stats worth pursuing, one of them is actually needed, the other one is optional. 

I got this quest as well. And the awesome reward for doing this quest is...one meager middle arcane potion.

I agree, this is just a dungeon with no mithrala at the end. It's like any other dungeon, EXCEPT you don't get diffent sets, you get rng on top of rng on top of rng. 

what are the odds of getting a piece worth rolling?

then the odds of a rolled piece worth aacending?

then the odds of that getting great rolls?

On the days this comes up on advanced quests i will simply miss the energy refil

It is not worth the hassle

In theory, if you only care about doing daily quests then you could technically just buy a 4 star gear from the marketplace, take it to level 12 and then ascend it for 30 less oils.  Still not great but better than using 60 oils.

That said, it really is hard to defend this type of change and I'm against it as well.  I get that it is to encourage people to use ascension, but this advanced quest will arguably become one of the most annoying in the game.

Seriously... so 2x week you spend a little energy on this.  I think the hydra key is worse, and I love hydra lol.  And the tag fw one too. 

Its not wasted energy.  Its another extremely valuable end game resource.

The forum complaints about hydra and Iron twins have all but disappeared, because they were completely misguided imo.  The same will happen eventually with this new dungeon.

I still hate Hydra key quest when it's early in the week. And it's not the energy itself, it's that after you tried ascending all your gear, you're basically gonna roll just for the quest....waste 75 energy so you can get a refill of 130 😂

It is real.  I got the quest too.   So, basically I need to spend a whole refill worth of energy to get the refill for the day out of advanced quests.    I do this so I can upgrade artifacts that aren't worth spending that much energy to improve.

I think it's more that, basically all the other quests can be done by just about anyone, at any stage of the game. I'm not sure if this boss is even beatable at the first level for people who aren't at least *somewhat* progressed - let alone being worth farming at that stage.

I'm assuming the first few levels are easier than the bommal block in DT?

Tbh I don't think either of us can really answer that question - I just did the first few on auto with a random team. I think we'd need to see what the minimum requirements are, and my guess is they're higher than the other quests require.

In what world is the hydra key worse. If you don't want to do hydra, you can go in with a random champ, end battle, keep result. Takes 30s. I'm not defending the hydra quest, but this is waaay worse.

In the nicest possible way, from a long established 'noob whiner' this is mostly BS. :)

For most players- running this dungeon takes a fair bit of time, and the rewards arent worth the investment in time and resources. It isnt equivalent to the hydra quest - Hydra uses a key which if you didnt want to 'really' do you could end after 10 seconds.

Noone has to actually do iron twins, ever. I do iron twins as i want the rewards, heck i burn gems frequently for them.

This quest requires you to actually finish and win half a dozen battles at level 10+, a real challenge for many players.

Dont get me wrong, i will simply miss a refill when it comes up so it is not important in the grand scheme of things, but trying to make this look a decently balanced quest with regards to reward to effort ratio is not fooling anyone :)
