It worked, leaving the game logged in all day.

I had no Ronda pop up when ever I was on the game.

I have just reloaded the game after reset and the Ronda chase popped up and I collected the item I should of collected 24 hours ago, so I am now 1 item behind and will collect Ronda on Wednesday now.

 cool, so as long as your log in doesn't refresh during those hours.  I can't personally relie on that as my device will refresh the game if I'm not active for a while.  E.g. I have the red dots right now, but if I minimize to check forums, discord, whatever, and come back, boom, game refreshes and collected. 

Main take away is DO NOT log in or allow your game to refresh during those hours.

Hibernating the computer overnight without closing the program also seems to have worked. I just collected day 5 now, and I'm pretty sure that's consistent with a skipped day.
