Route 2 is the only one that is open. But this assumes that Lord Oberon is a linear thinker. Let's be honest, he carries a big sword and he doesn't like mazes... A straight line being the shortest distance between two points, any direction will do.

from the three tree's go up thru the bottom of number 2 go left around the outside of number 1 around number 1 to number 4 around number 4 to number 3 around 3 to number 2 from there you going to enter number 2 to the first opening go all the way back to the third row left right around left around left ,right to the middle of number 2.
