Perhaps not a great capture,however  I would say it definitely says - 50,000 gold.

I have another example where it clearly is a +sign.

 Though it doesnt show it so well here as on the pc.

 Zooming the original pictures gives a clearer showing of the pixels and they would appear to be different.
