If you only had problems near the end of the competition, you were lucky, yes it got really bad near the end, it generally does ,as everybody wants to play at the same time and bump up the levels if possible, and get a top spot.
However its been bad all day scrolling on the map almost impossible, lag, blue circles, throwing up 'Do you want to do 'x'? boxes,' which then creates another step to clear it, before proceding. Good luck with you quest for compensation, you will have to foward it via a ticket.
