I just came back to Vikings War of Clan after an extended absence, and I find myself to be the only one left in the clan. Is there any way to change my status to clan chief so I can begin cleaning the rolls and recruiting new members and participating in events again?

yeah there should some way, as all elders migrate out of clan, some one who is active should be able to get automatically the chief's status. this way small players are encouraged and be on the game.
