dont waste any of your old town skins if you have any left like i have wasted. I been gone from the game for a while and just came back recently.  so I have several of the skins that gives 1000 unit on hero energy that are being wasted daily due to this bug. hang tight and hope they fix it soon

There is no need to swap sets  and then swap back,so there is  no need for the spending and  loss of gold. 

All you have to do is manually remove one piece and then put it back on.

Or as already been suggested,until there is a fix ,do not attempt the achievements, or perhaps, it may work( not tried this) do them at a more convenient time, when the situation is more manageable.
