Believe or not my next explore got the Beowulf Headband, still don't know if you can get with the auto mode.

Not having been in the catacombs recently, nor in need of the gear you seek, am not sure of the current status. 

However, previously the gear was often found in the chests which you can't find and  open? or couldn't find, using the auto mode, though also sometime, it was found, as a reward, at the end of a run.

Of course to each their own but, it is, or was, wasteful of points ,and other items using auto run, if you still need them.

Incidentally, unless this has also changed, there is no requirement to get Beowolf  gear to finish all floors and nodes with three stars.
