That was a better answer ... I missed the point of the question ... you can look at the date to see the last time they unshielded with a guard payoff.

You have your preferred shield (usually 8 hrs as the game gives you thousands of those) favourited.  Now as soon as you click the button to attack (which drops your shield) you move the cursor to "Boosts" on the right, click that and then click "apply" which re-shields.

So a couple of inchs to move and two clicks.  I think I could beat the blink of an eye.

And it looks even quicker if your own connection/internet is a bit slow. I play two towns simultaneously: one on Plarium Play and one with Google Chrome, and the Google Chrome has a definate delay and sees everything after it has already happened on Plarium Play.

Yes - always make a town shield a favorite - click on the star.

If playing using keyboard the hit "B" will bring up favorites
