I don't know if its related but after I build the hospital there was a caravan from some mysterious sector.  The name appeared to be Russian.  There was no info on the caravan only an arrow pointing left and another below it pointing right.  After the caravan arrived I didn't notice any change to my units or resources.

PS:  I also built a Black Market thinking it would give me discounts or something, but I don't notice any difference from the permanent one on the right tool bar.  Do I need it?

In the hospital you can restore 10% of units, who got destroyed in a battle on your own sector, for free.

Also you can restore max 70% of units who got destroyed in battle on the entire map.

But remember, percentage is always counted on 1 attack, so if you lose 1 unit A, 1 unit B 1 unit C... etc, you don't get units in the hospital, because 10% of 1 is 0,1.

Second, the black market building, no need to build it. It's the same as the permanent one.

Mania, any ideas on that mysterious caravan?  It didn’t say what it was carrying.  I just assumed it has something to do with the new hospital.  If it happens again, I’ll try to get a screen capture.  Or survey the sector it came from.

Also, I know this thread is a mixed bag of questions, but in the Black Market do protocrystals buy the unit or just a module?

Don't know about the caravans, maybe a module trade you made?

The protocrystals buy a module, not the unit.

I didn't make a trade.  I have no idea what it was.  Even looking at it it didn't tell me anything about its cargo.  Mystery.

Commander, at the beginning of the game there is a mission of creating a trade offer for resource exchange. It is possible that you have forgotten about yours and some player accepted it. You can alos check your reports of Technical Advisor. Maybe someone sent you a module.

I do remember the resource exchange quest and after I made the offer and got the reward removed it (cheat?).  I'm familiar with the caravan status since I trade resources all the time.  The one I'm curious about did not say what it was or that it was returning.  Mystery?

i'm also wondering why there is never any troops in the free section for healing - what's up with that?

i'm tired of building more and more and i don't care to keep throwing money at the game to not be hobbled in play.

In the free sector, only 10%  per unit lost at battles on your own sector appear. Thats all

so if someone nukes you, you may lose 1 unit of al types, but still 1 unit 10% is nothing

there that lonely 20% that drops off a cliff. how about making it that we get back 10% of what we lose outside the sector as well.

Actually I believe it tracks the remainder, so if you lose 1 unit of the same type 10 times in separate battles (all on your sector of course), you'll get the 10th one back for free. 

For example 

If someone sends 5000 BC's at Bio 

and he had 10 000 interceptors out there and he lost 1000 interceptors during the attack

He would get 100  back free in the hospital
