Proguide: The Best Equipment!

Proguide: The Best Equipment!

Hi guys, Xexar here from SFG Kingdom 55.

As everyone knows who has played Thrones trying to figure out what gear to make in the game can be pretty daunting. You need to cycle through countless screens comparing stats and requirements. I myself have ended up using up materials for less critical items and I’m back waiting weeks for the right assailant to come out.

To help everyone out I’ve compiled the best sets of regular gear and have compared them to the best Arsenal gear. As you will see many of the regular items are very close stat wise to some of the Arsenal stuff and in some cases even better (i.e. food production). The list will allow you to decide exactly what you want to make and correctly target the right materials for creation.

Unless you are just starting off and your palace is under level 21 I always recommend you only make Legendary items. As such (and to keep the table simple) I am only comparing Legendary stats. I also recommend that you never dismantle any Legendary item. Plarium keeps adding equipment so you never know when these might be needed for the next best thing.

At the bottom of the guide is a note on materials and where to get them.

The colors note how the best Arsenal item compares to the best standard/assailant item for the same stat. Red = performs worse, White = has a negligible effect <5,>

Fighting Sets -------------------------------

Growth Sets -------------------------------

Right now, the Inquisitor gear is pretty limited so at this point its excluded from the list. The real value with the Inquisitor gear today is the ability to load the items up with gems for whatever stat you want to increase.

Materials ---

As a very general note you can use the below table to figure out what Assailant to hit for which focused items and materials.

Check out this link for a much more detailed list.

You are just listing all the Amarian gear, it isn't always the best gear though.

Badcarp, sorry you found this confusing. The table shows exactly what you are describing. The left side is the best non arsenal equipment and the right is the arsenal equivalent. The colors show which is better.

Only the green highlight items are significantly better then the  standard ones.  The red ones are worse ( so not the best).

I did not see a set for attacking assailants. Which set would be the best, and I currently use those listed for the Heros attack of assailants, but have experimented and found that some of the other sets do have an affect. Your thoughts.

There "isn't" one. (A distinct set.)

Assailant attack gear is Savage gear.

It is a 'must have'. You need ass. material, and you have to kill ass. to get it. over, and over, and over, and ...

Which jewels and skills is arguable. And different depending upon where in your game progression you are.

'Early on' this gear is your normal everyday gear, so you will want to max. out march speed as much as possible. e.g. Hero Skill, and Citrine x 6.

[Later it isn't your every day gear, so you can then ignore build and study skills, in favor of silver and rss. Every day gear becomes battle or resource yield gear. Each to their own profiles, including build and study.]

'Early on' you will want Malachite x 6 for an extra couple of ass. hits per day. Later, the couple hits is all but invisible against alphas, so you might prefer Onyx or Heliodor.

You will use this gear endlessly and forever, so hold out for Legendary. Focus your studying, essentially exclusively, on Assailants, down to 'Unlock Assailants VI'. Focus on making it cheaper and more effective to hit, e.g. Stamina Economy, Deterrence,  and Fury. Ignore Stamina restore, Enhanced Attack, Tactics and Army Defense / Offense 'til the rest is done. Everything beside and below Ass. VI can wait for months.

Test's Assailant guide at https://plarium.com/forum/en/throne-kingdom-at-war/fan-guides/70089_test-s-assailant-guide/ is the Bible.

Can you comment on the new dogrish  grappler’s turban? It offers huge boost to army. Does it supply those same boosts when you were an army of spies?

Thanks

Same question. Doghrish Grappler gear originally said it was for attacking/defending eternal stronghold. The description changed to attacking/defending castles. Does the gear work on ES and individual castles? Does it bonus only standard troops or does it include spies?

I haven't got it to be able to inform you. (And such is far too expensive to acquire casually.)

My best guess is that it is designed for the ES, but also for the new Dominion Assault the Rampart events.

My best guess is also that if army offense / defense is effective in your scenario, the gear will be too. So try applying an Increased Defense boost and see if it changes any stats under Palace / Statistics / Army / Warriors.

You could try against the ES too, and look at the stats. Problem is, detailed stats. are in the battle report only if you win. And you would need to check the stats both with and without the bonus / gear applied.

---

Thoughts added later ... if you look at the Warrior stats, you see distinct Army Offense / Defense, Tier # Offense / Defense, Army Defense / Offense during Offense / Defense,  Army offense when defending / attacking Castles, {Troop} Offense / Defense, Defense / Offense against enemy {Troop}. Let alone the various Health elements.

No doubt all will have an impact, the problem is which will have the greatest impact. And that is Plarium's secret sauce. e.g .1(.2(.3(.4x))) will be less than .4(.3(.2(.1x))). [Mathematically not as written there, but no doubt algorithmicaly. I expect the final result formula includes additions and subtractions at various points, not just quotients. Which gets applied when, to have the most impact is the conundrum.]

Let alone stats that have an impact in multiple places. e.g. Health will impact both defense and offense stats.

I would focus on prime gear first, then look at such as this as an optional extra afterwards. And if you are at that point, the question is probably moot. At that point you make the gear for assaulting the rampart, because you can, and have nothing better to do with your rss at that point.

Prime gear being:

  • (Assailant) Savage - all good things stem from assailants, make continuously acquiring it as cheap as possible.
  • (Arsenal) Build - you will need to complete studies, and the top tiers are horribly (B's) expensive. Max out this gear and Economic studies soonest. Perhaps including Variscite. [Delivering other potentially useful materials instead of having to kill as many L6's, in the process?]
  • (Arsenal) Study. Perhaps including Turquoise. [Same.]
  • (Arsenal) {Troop} type - useful whenever your favourite troop comes into play.
  • Other. Perhaps training gear. Yielding gear too - get alpha camp yield time under an hour for Safe Conducts.

You will want Hero Profile's for each.

And you will want corresponding Inquisitors and gear. Additionally because such gives you a place to hang jewels and runes off of.

The above is useful throughout. Castle specific gear less so. [Stats seem to make paltry differences*, so seek to make the best use of what you have as you can. e.g. A 10% build jewel will bring as much build benefit as any non-Talisman Inquisitor build gear.]

* 100x of something is going to overwhelm a single something, regardless of the stats. This is why early on, gear, especially non-legendary gear, or fighting, taking resources away from building, is pointless and counter-productive. There is always a bigger bully just around the corner from you, able to whittle away any defenses 700k troops, and repeated marches, at a time. Even with the bonuses of being within your own walls.

---

If someone transfers into an Order with a Citadel having this gear built and can list the stat differences after having crafted it, please let us all know. Seems there is keen interest in the answer here.

Hey there,

You may want to upgrade the table for Calvary Arsenal Talisman.  There is a Dogrish Ritual Scabbard that is better than the Parade Belt by far.  I'm sure it was just added since you made this list.

Thanks for creating the list!

Best,

John
