Correction: It wasn't an OvO, it was a Strengthen your town challenge, but it says to gain power by "upgrading warriors", I tried the studies for warriors, but that didn't add anything to my points.

I believe this is for upgrades done within the Alchemical Lab. Testing indicates so. [Had 0 event points, did an upgrade, then had points.]

Upgrading warriors for OvO (Order vs Order) doesn't just mean unlocking new tiers in the Studies tree. Those are important, but for it to count toward the Orders War score, you need to actually train or upgrade the troops themselves in the Barracks, Range, Siege Workshop, etc. When you use the "Upgrade" option on existing troops (e.g., T3 to T4), that’s when the points register for OvO.

I remember I wasted a bunch of resources on studies thinking it would count — lesson learned 😅

Upgrading warriors can definitely be confusing at first I also thought research in the Studies tree would count, but only actual troop upgrades in the barracks gave me points. A tip I picked up is to time upgrades during events so you get double value (points for the war + points for personal challenges).
