Behind Battle Calculation ... your Take
Although the exact algorithms behind PvP battle calculations are a black box, most of us have a general sense as to how these are handled, although everyone might see this slightly differently.
How are defensive units matched to offensive ones?
- By their category (light, heavy, …)?
- By their numbers, either unit count or strength?
- How are they distributed?
- If a cavalry-heavy offence runs into a balanced defence, how many cavs are matched against which defensive units / unit categories? Is it a percentage value matching the number and strength of defensive forces?
- Or would the offensive cavs be matched to defensive cavalry 1:1 with a (possible) overflow assigned to other unit types?
- Are offensive units matched to defensive contingents or vice versa? Or both?
- And are they first matched by type (Agemas, Carthaginians, …) and then by category (cav, phalanx, …)?
I have been keeping track of PvP battle results for the past few months and am getting a feel of how this is calculated, but would be very interested to hear what others have to say about this, especially since I only have been playing for about 18 months and other players have been around for much longer.
Cheers
