Imperial Troops

Will Imperial Troops still have the same resource value as normal troops ?  Just wondering how it will effect the bank on Persian Positions.

imperial troops did not count for your bank Persian positions, as they are not bought by resources therefore is of no use for Persian positions

If this was true then we are in big trouble..

If I buy 50 pelts at the market, get 30 pelts from a development race then send 100 pelts to a PP, does it mean that only 20 of them count because only 20 were "bought by resources"??

I don't really think so..

He may mean strictly imperial troops because they are NOT developed with resources.

Yeah, it's only about "bought only" units.

Since they have no known resources value, they're probably worth 0.

However, my own experience using champions on Persians (I have strictly no use for Standard Bearers not other junk like that you sometimes get for free with tournaments) proves they probably have some hidden value, as the full payout usuall drops much sooner than predicted from only known values units.

And anyway, it helps clearing more positions while sparing troops, and getting more partial payouts in the process. That's how I manage to get the losses / payouts ratio almost balanced, so the full payout is almost full benefit when it drops. I can even sometimes get beneficial from partial payouts only (usually in the levels 45-55 area), especially when associated with offense or defense enhancers.

I know It's not the orthodox way to play Persians, but I don't care about that. Instead I care about getting more good troops from junk, and possibly from less junk so i can play one or two additional positions and get even more troops.

Everybody plays his way... This is mine. I only seek efficiency.

So even if Imperial units would be worth nothing to pay back the bank, if I decided they're not interesting for PvP, I could still use them to get more regular troops from Persians for free (considering they're bonus units).

As I said... Everybody's choices and methods. ;)

Now they're quite interesting for PvP actually. Unfortunately not as strong as veterans, but definitely stronger than regular units, and benefitting from the same enhancements from agreements.

Too bad you can't turn them into veterans, but well, my units aren't 100% veterans anyway, so since I'll always have regular troops anyway, I'd rather have this enhanced kind than nothing. ;)

but I would suggest not to use them for Persians, even if they have same res value as ordinary units, they are harder to get than ordinary units and have better stats then vets

it's same as sending vets or roman troops at PP I see not much logic in that, apart if you have everything veteraned :)

Nope, their stats are under vets', but they're still better than ordinary ones. :)
