The storage limit was maxed to 1000, we didn't max the purchase limit. It remained the same. 'Storage limit reached. Apply bonds to make space' message you may see means that you cannot purchase more bonds, but can store more than 100 if you receive some as rewards. 

That means this: the visible storage limit is set at the number 100, but, the number of bonds you have available to cash in, convert, use, is whatever the number you actually have is. So, for example, you have 140 basic bonds. The game shows a bland screen saying whatever the message is. But, that in effect, means nothing. If you cash in your bonds above 100 bonds, say down to 99, the window becomes "active" again. That is, it lights up. It can be confusing at first.

So, if you have any bonds in any category more than 100, your window or view seems to be grayed out, but that has no effect, zero impact, on how many bonds you have available to use. So, do not let this limit you, put you in handcuffs about doing as many Warlord skirmishes as you want to do..... 

Just use some of them now and then and you shouldn't have any problems...
